Damn... how did this thread transform into the ship heavy weirdness that it is now. ?
Maybe because its a lion guard thread and all lion guard fans care about is who to ship with Kion? (I kid.)

Well, it could confuse kids that it's possible for other species to actually be able to mate with one another. Disney has always kept their animal canon couples the exact seem species. Disney would only go with things that are possible in the wild. Even if it was possible for Kion and Fuli to mate, Simba would have to do something about it since pride rock is only meant for lions since it always has been and Kion still has royal blood.

Sometimes yes, it's possible, but cheetah-lion hybrids don't exist.

All kinds of cartoons pair animals of different species, they don't have to address the actual mating part at all if the couple simply doesn't have children, and technically, they can still mate even if they can't produce offspring. Which hasn't stopped cartoons from making up their own hybrids, either. All that aside, TLG is still a Disney Junior show. I highly doubt there will be any relationships of a romantic nature established, and the most they'll likely do in that regard is reference/touch on/build the Kiara/Kovu relationship. If they do establish another kind of relationship, it will likely be side characters for the plot of a single episode, and they will probably be the same species. But TLK/TLG already has an interracial couple, anyway, even if they don't really make a big deal of it (which they shouldn't make a big deal of and I do think they are handling sort of well). We don't even really see anything romantic between Simba and Nala, so yeah. People can ship Kion with whomever they like, but I doubt any of it will play any role in the series itself.

Lions also don't have super powered roars with magical tattoos. Male lions typically murder cubs that aren't their own, so Scar should have killed nala. Kovu too. Tiifu and Zuri would be Simba's cubs.

Lions don't get held up in the air by mandrils for elephants to bow down to. Lions don't befriend warthogs or meerkats.

Lions don't sing or speak perfect English.

Dead Lions don't appear in spirit form....must I go on?

So? That's Disney. Disney always put in magic to for entertainment but they also go with real life things as well. Also, in the wild, Lions even hunt cheetahs. Also, Nala isn't the daughter of Scar. It's been confirmed in an episode that Nala's father looks very Similar to Mufuasa but we know for sure that it is not him since Disney always try to avoid incest. It's a mix of realism and a mix of magic.

You missed the point. TLK just has a very humanlike story, just with animal characters instead of humans.

They play fast and loose with real animal logic all the time, so what's wrong with Kion and Fuli being together? Out of all the things that aren't possible in the tlk universe.

I think their personalities would clash more than their species.

I'm all for interspecies relationships.

Doesn't mean I think Kion X Fuli is 'okay' but power to all those people that ship them.
