I really don't think that the makers took us into account. I mean lets face it, it is a kids (well it's intended to be) show and I too am guttered Kiara is a cub as it doesnt make sense. But I don't think they are from the same litter because Kiara looks older than Kion in the book image from Amazon. I can get over the whole Kiara thing but I really think that maybe chucking Kovu and Vitani in there would be awesome. The whole thing doesn't make sense anymore because Kiara has a brother which would have changed the entire outcome of things from the second film (although it was made after). It's so utterly stupid, why they didn't just stick with the facts and make Kion the second cub I don't know; Kovu would have been an awesome uncle.

I have merged GPK's thread with EJ's as we didn't need two.

People freaking out over kiara being a cub should know that this is how I felt about them breaking continuity with the second tlk and 'kovu vitani nuka and zira' and how they were supposidly in tlk 1 which is BS, no they were NOT in the first movie.

It took me from 1998 to 2014 to accept simbas pride as canon... With tlg i think it will be much quicker.

Honestly, I think it's possible they'll use TLG to remove some of the plot holes in TLK:SP. I'm not worried; there are ways they could do this to keep both as canon. And if they don't leave both canon and don't comment on which one is in fact canon, people can choose to ignore whichever one they like least. Either way, it's not a big deal. Also, if Kiara's a cub this confirms Kovu's not dead; of course, if they retcon SP, he may never exist.

Either way, we'll get some answers about some of that (perhaps) on the 22nd of November! My little cousin is going to be so happy there's a date now.
