The animation seems good the voice acting seems good as well. I'll admit these clips do at least calm my initial concerns the tone seems a lot like the tone for the first half of the original film which I think works well for the beginning plus i'm pretty sure things will be more dramatic later. What the heck was happening with the clouds there it seems almost like the kings chose him but why for what and what does that mark mean? I wonder could we be delving into the more mystical side of the lion king universe?

The only problem I have is with the hyenas and not their portrayal which was actually accurate to the movie but rather they seem like very weak antagonist I'm hoping we have a better main villain I mean after Scar and Zira who were both great villains the hyenas simply won't cut it. Of course it's just as likely there just starter villains and we'll meet the real villain later. Now all I need to see is a season trailer kind of like the one that was shown for rebels season 2 give me something like that and count me in either way I am intrigued now.

Okay, I just watched the clip, overall I think it looks pretty good, the voices, the animation, and the characters but I'm not a big fan of the magical paw print on his shoulder that appeared and I am also not a fan of how it actually "Looks" the stumpy hyenas and how everything is very, I don't know how to describe it. Could someone help me out here?

Also does anyone know of Kovu or Kopa or Kiara, maybe I'm missing something but I haven't heard much about other characters. Do we have any insight on who is voicing other characters such as Timone and others? I suppose I need to reserve judgement before I "Exile it"; huh, get it? XD

Kopa is not involved at all, Kiara has been stated to be Kion's older sister and the heir to the throne, and Kion is said to be Simba and Nala's second child.

I don't really mind the symbol appearing on his shoulder because it's a kid's show and I expected about as much. I kind of like the look, and the animation and voices. I think it's looking like it will be a good show and pretty much exactly what I expected from the start.

Kiara is in, kovu is unknown, kopa is one big no as he wasn't created by disney...

Timon seems to be voiced by the guy who voiced him in the timon and pumbaa show from the 90's.

You know... It's a lot better than I expected it to be. I am glad to say that I was pleasantly surprised.

Sure, there are things with it that I find slightly off putting. The character designs look a bit to non-standard for my tastes, and the clip reminded me too much of the scene where Simba tries to roar away the hyenas in the first movie.

Other than that, the animation is even rather good, and I especially like the music. It really reminded me of the music in TLK 1, which in my book, is a very good thing.

So definitely looking at this with a move favorable opinion now compared to before!

Biggest surprise his name is pronounced K-Eye-On. I have been mispronouncing his name for over a year (I need to make an Edit in the ask Simba Thread) I noticed that up Until Kion used The Roar of The Elders the color of his Sclera is yellow like all the other lions in The Lion King. It turns White after he uses The Roar of The Elders. I don't know if this is intentional or just a coloring mistake, I'll have to wait and see. The Hyenas are clearly not adults if you take into consideration that Bunga himself is a cub. I'm wondering if The Hyenas are related to Shenzi, Banzi, or Ed?

I am shocked that Rob Lowe is now voicing Simba, I too was Certain that Came Clark would get the job. However I am sure Disney must have thought that he was a closer match to Matthew Broderick than Cam because I'm sure he also has a higher price tag. As has already been stated.

I think Julie Skywalker hit it on the head when she suggested that The Hyenas now inhabit The Outlands.

Like many others have said I didn't expect the animation to be as good as in The Lion King, but it is amazing for a T.V. series.

As for magic being in The Lion Guard, I'm with Julie Skywalker it must be Rafiki's magic or perhaps the Power of The Great Kings of The Past. I think it is safe to assume that there will not be any Spell Casting.

As for Villains, it makes sense for The Lion Guard to face less formidable foes than Scar and Zira. After all if a team of cubs can handle threats that were challenging for Simba it would Simba and perhaps Kovu less important. Basically I can't see Simba making a team of cubs completely responsible for the safety and security of The Pride Lands.

I think this show is going to be better than I had hoped I Just Can't Wait For The Lion Guard.
