Knew going in not have to big expectations as it's geared to kids but man....even those low expectations weren't met well. I'll post what I posted my review from another board:
-The animation style is awful. They took the usual shortcuts for TV.
-Simba is played by Rob Lowe and he's awful. He has no emotion and is stale right from the beginning. Awful casting choice
-Gabrielle Union is not bad as Nala but she has about 4-5 lines

-Whoever plays Rafiki is also awful. At points, he tries to sneak in a Chris Rock impression for whatever reason.
-Kion is played by Max Charles, who received decent reviews for playing Sherman in the Mr. Peabody move. He really has nothing to work with here though as the script is terrible for the whole cast.
-There's a honey badger character called Bunga and MY GOD IS HE ANNOYING! Oh, and he has his own Swahili phrase (Zuka Zama) that he will repeat once ever line or two. Hell, it even gets its own song ala Hakuna Matatta.
-But Bunga is nowhere near as annoying as Zuri, a female cub who is scared of literally everything. She combines the shrillness of Olive Oyl with the annoyingness of a damsel in distress.
-Speaking of songs, they're all subpar. Simba's Pride and LK 1 and a 1/2 have much better tunes.
-James Earl Jones is back as Mufasa...for about a minute.
-Ernie Sabella also returns as Pumbaa.
-Villains are stale. There's a new group of hyenas that don't stand out as well as a vulture character who is British and the only way a British villain would work in this setting is if it's an anti-apartheid Afrikaner

-So the plot essentially is that Kion is born with a mark or something and that means he's in the Lion Guard. The Lion Guard is apparently the Supreme Court of the Kingdom because it's revealed that even SCAR WENT TO THEM TO SEE IF HE CAN BECOME KING. He then roared at them or something and that's how he ruled the kingdom...I guess.
-Oh, and how the stampede is split up at the end...yeah
