I share your sentiments Sadiki. I choose not to focus on the petty issues this episode may ignite in fans because I am just excited it's happening at all. I am certainly going to have fun watching this episode.

@gothprincesskiara: Zira not having her blaze on her head bothers me too (Even if I did not notice it until it was pointed out), I hope this is something that will be fixed in future appearances. Or (and believe me I know how lame this idea is before I type it.) maybe Zira will acquire the blaze before the episode is over. Perhaps her blaze is actually a battle scar.

As for The Outsiders not looking as good as they did in Lion King 2, I think it is safe to assume that the budget for a direct to video film is bigger than that of a preschool show. So I never expect the animation on The Lion Guard to be on par with that of Lion King 2. However I do think that The Lion Guard does have better animation than Timon and Pumbaa (The series) did.

@Hatari05: I like the idea of Zira being a major threat to The Lion Guard, in fact it will make perfect sense to me if (similar to what you suggested) Simba and/or Nala have to intervene to ensure that The Lion Guard survives. Also if (as you suggested) Zira somehow tricks or manipulates Kion. That will not only hurt The Lion Guards Confidence and reputation. It will also cause major problems for Kion, given how badly it upsets him when he makes any kind of judgemental error. As you said that could be what causes season 2 to be darker.

@Thelionavengers: I do not ship Kion and Jasiri, even though many others do. I have however entertained the thought of Jasiri joining The Lion Guard, It would not fit with tradition, but Kion does not mind bending tradition. I could easily see Jasiri joining The Lion Guard without being given a title.

The Outsiders appearing on The Lion Guard opens a lot of exciting story possibilities. It just depends on where Disney Jr. is willing to go with this. Thus far they have been much more bold than I would have expected.

I don't think this will be the only time we'll see The Outlanders. They play such a massive part in SP, and TLG is more closely connected to the sequel than the first movie. Their future arc might just be hinted at here and then they'll eventually return in later seasons. It's common for shows to do that with villains because they often have the advantage of being able to spread out their story over multiple hours--movies can't do that. I would be very surprised if they don't make a return after this.

Remember, this episode may not involve Kiara. We'll have to have something involving her with The Outlanders at some point. It wouldn't make sense if she was unaware the entire time.

Oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh! So much discussion! So much teasing in that trailer!

I'm a little concerned about Zira's head stripe- I legit didn't actually recognise her as Zira without it. But apart from that I'm mostly just stoked for the whole thing.

A good point, and yet another reason to not see this as canon. Some people might whinge about this being the trait of a "TLK purist" but it does make things like this, along with Zira's design change, easier to deal with. And there's no harm at all in doing that. I don't consider anything aside from the original movie canon. You can still enjoy something without regarding it as canon, many people do that with TLK 1 1/2. That's the only way I'm able to sit through that movie.

As of right now, we don't even know if the Outlanders live in the part of the Outlands we've seen in the trailer--maybe they do, but it's still possible the termite mounds haven't been done away with. Either way it's not really an issue, and even seeing it as canon I don't have a problem with it. SP wasn't perfect, TLG isn't either. SP didn't match up 100% with TLK, so it's not a surprise if TLG doesn't match up 100% with the films.

If you're going to take slight differences such as a termite mound or a head mark as not canon you might as well throw away tlk2 as canon. The amount of holes and leaps of logic with the first film are astounding.

By now I believe that each bit of tlk media is in its own continuity.

The first movie
The timon and pumbaa show
The various books and comics
Simbas pride
TLK1.5
The lion guard

If you try to make sense of the franchise being one whole thing, there's plenty of stuff that blatantly contradicts each other.

And then there is the broadway musical which contradicts the first film the least. The future remake will probably, at the very least, change some things.

It's not a surprise by any means, but the least thing they could do is try. Try to match the design of Zira. Try to match the original location of their home. They don't even have to design them from scratch either, it's already been done for them. It's not that hard.

But, you do make a good point; we are being assumptive. Just seems like a rather odd thing to leave out, or portray incorrectly.
