Wow! From what I've seen already, it's good to know that it seems enjoyable enough for me and it has that MLP-vibe. The animation and voice acting is very good and Kion's voice fits him. I immediately thought back to Simba when Kion said "Pick on somebody your own size." :D

I can't wait to see more and I do hope the show will be enjoyable to watch.

Plus, yay for JEJ returning as Mufasa. :)

The hyenas in the clip looked like redesigned versions of Shenzi and Banzai. I'm not sure if it's been confirmed to be them, but the voice actors for the hyenas are surprisingly not listed although it sounds like they are imitating Whoopi Goldberg and Cheech Marin.

Max Charles is Kion, after all? Here's a fun fact: Max Charles voiced Sherman in Mr. Peabody and Sherman, which was directed by Lion King co-director Rob Minkoff. I'm surprised Rob Lowe and Gabrielle Union are taking over as Simba and Nala. I thought for sure, that Cam Clarke would reprise the role again. I do know that Broderick and Nathan Lane were occupied with the Broadway play, It's Only a Play, which started its performance run last year. So, maybe, that's why Broderick and Lane couldn't reprise their roles, unless they weren't asked to begin with. Nevertheless, Lowe and Union are fine actors, and I wish them the best. As expected, the creators would get child actors to voice the members of the Lion Guard. Lastly, I noticed there were no listed actors for Kiara and Zazu.

The animation looked incredible, and the African feel of the music at the end of the clip made me feel nostalgic.

I wonder how well Rob Lowe can do a Simba voice. Especially since I'd assume that he'd be more expensive than Cam Clarke considering he's not usually a voice actor, but I don't know. Maybe they got him for star quality. To be fair he does sound a bit like an older Broderick.

Also the E-Online article was more or less the same but had this image attached http://www.eonline.com/eol_images/Entir ... -81215.jpg
which I am assuming is from Disney.

If those are the designs of simba and nala then WOW.

Those are very close to the original designs.

I'm impressed by the designs of Simba and Nala since they match their appearances in the first film, but this is following The Lion King II where Simba looked noticeably older with a more fleshed out mane and stronger build. So, isn't it inconsistent how Simba was young at the end of the first film, looked older in the sequel, and now he looks younger again? Nala looks relatively the same, and now has her original eye color in the new series.

It's a tad stylistically dissimilar to the animation of old, so he's not going to look 100% exactly on-model as before to either of those films(although the very faithful color schemes are worthy of note). Even Nala has a build that doesn't seem quite as big as in any of the films. We can attribute it all to slightly different styles. That or those old articles that bring up Kiara are extremely dated information and the final product totally retconned TLKII to oblivion. Dun dun duuun. :P

I've got a suspicion that it takes place during the timeskip in SP, since they mention outlands (although that could just be a generic term), but regardless I think they've mainly redesigned everything to work better with whatever animation software they're using, ToonBoom right? Nala is sleeker, and so is Simba's mane, it was scruffier in TLK, but its not as smooth as it was in SP.

Ok after watching the video more then ten times and reviewing it, here is my response to it. The animation is very smooth and well done, the environment is beautifully well painted, the rocks look AMAZINGLY GOOD, the Hyenas have a different twist look on them but they still have the same colors and features of the original TLK hyena look, and the outlands will be in the show, but after the outlanders lions joined with Simba so, but didn't we all think that the hyenas lived in the EG? they must have fled to the outlands or Simba probably banished them there. Ok Now who is Jon Jon? he must be a hyena too and the leader main bad guy.

And I find it very cute and funny when Bunga says "Lunch?" its so funny cute, I like the way he says it so adorable :teehee:

Notice how Kions eyes change from brown to gold or orange, they must be a mix of those colors but they are Definitely not red like Simbas, But I thinks Simba had some brown eyes too or orange. Now for the roar how can we accept this him having this adult roar as a cub and having the adult lions roar with him in the cloud's and wind power. I just don't know about this, is this gonna happen every time someone is in trouble? and where did Bunga get that goared? Rafikis im guessing, what was it used for? why did he have it? and where did he learn those fast moves to climb up a Rocky cliff?
And last but not least, the Lion Symbal on Kion Shoulder, ok its not a paw we know that already but the way it appears on his shoulder I can definitely rule out it wasn't done by Rafiki, or was it his magic?, this kind of magic idk I guess it would be ok I guess but they better not go over board.

and of course notice a familier voice at the end of the Title? ITS MUFASA HES BACK YAY! :hmph:
Yea I'm content with all the voice acting in it. Even the hyenas, they got the hyena vibe down.

BUT I do wonder, is the whole symbol appearing magically, the real thing or is this just like...idk. The Lion King doesn't really have magic in it. That's the only thing that bothers me. I do find it funny that he can roar unlike his father could around his age lol
I don't know, Mufasa appearing in the clouds seemed a bit like magic to me, this seems vaguely similar, considering it's lions appearing in the clouds and then the mark shows up, doesn't seem too far out to me.
I've got a suspicion that it takes place during the timeskip in SP, since they mention outlands (although that could just be a generic term), but regardless I think they've mainly redesigned everything to work better with whatever animation software they're using, ToonBoom right? I don't know why people keep assuming that. I really doubt that this is at any point prior to the end of TLK2.

As for Simba and Nala's designs, none of the characters in the second movie matched their first movie counterparts, but that was simply the style in use. Here, the characters look different from TLK1 and TLK2, and besides, at the start of TLK2 they already had their TLK2 designs so this coming after that would still revert designs and be illogical if you assume the design is a reflection of age.

As for the hyenas mentioning the Outlands, well, just because the Outsiders joined Simba's pride at the end doesn't mean the Outlands no longer exist. It wasn't the pride that lived there that made the lands the Outlands, and the hyenas did not live there in TLK2. It was mentioned in TLK2 that the hyenas had "left" the Elephant Graveyard, but nothing else was said. It's entirely plausible that they now inhabit the same Outlands that Zira's pride did before.

But hyenas in the Outlands makes no sense unless this is after SP, like all indications have pointed to.

I doubt they are meant to be Shenzi and Banzai; if they were, then where is Ed? Besides, they looked too small to be adults, they seemed to be cubs to me.

In general, I think it looks about how I expected it to and I think it will be a good children's show.
