How does Kion fit into the TLK2 Storyline?

Kion was written in the story this year. So during tlk2 he did not exist.

That is something I failed to consider, although I still think Disney will not completely disregard Lion King 2. Although it is just a feeling on my part.

My theory to try to make sense of Kiara being a cub still is SP being a very vivid nightmare she had.

Making Simba's Pride a nightmare is not a good idea as people do like the movie as the seventeen million copies sold shows. As for where Kion is maybe he was on a mission during the events of Simba's Pride if the Lion Guard is tasked with protecting the Pride Lands I wouldn't be surprised if there were times they flat out had to leave them to battle whatever threatened them and I did suggest this in another topic what if Zira knew about the Lion Guard and deliberately had the outsiders lure them away from Pride Lands to insure they didn't interfere with her plans.

This would explain his absence not mentioning him on the other hand well same with Zira and the outsiders from the first didn't exist can't mention something that doesn't exist all you can do is tie it all in as best as you can.

I feared that The Lion Guard could go The "Dallas" route (I am probably the only one here old enough to gets that reference) and try to say that Lion King 2 was just a dream.

Although like Hatari05 says I think that would be a HUGE mistake on their part. I also agree that Disney's best bet is to make The Lion Guard work within Lion King 2. Not removing part of the continuity gives the writers more potential stories to work with. I think Disney must have had a plan for setting Lion Guard within Lion King 2 instead of after. Hopefully they have more planed for The Lion Guard than what they have thus far said.

I like Simba`s Pride quite a bit. Just because I came up with the nightmare theory doesn't mean I don't.

Apologies I was unaware but more so my statement as usual was directed at more than just you it was also directed by others that might think what you think. If it's not canon I'm alright with that so long as what we get is still good however I don't want any jabs at Simba's Pride to me that would be unnecessary and in poor taste. Note this isn't in particular just directed at you I'm not saying your taste are bad or that you want what you're stating or any of that so sorry for jumping to conclusions about your statement wasn't my intention.
