Re: The Lion King Video Game

Downloaded it back in 1995 as my first addon-game I got from one of my first Internet experiences over at my late aunt's household...(Stepmom and I did go over there once or sometimes twice a week.) Playing it via MS-DOS modus and all that... Back then in 1995 with already 2 years past the initial Internet Explorer going live in the Netherlands atleast, it truly was revolutionary for its time. But I wished for something like Wolfquest Game but then in TLK format.. I know there is something like Impressive Title even whilst it is free, it doesn't really match the experience I would like to have, from a game based on TLK in 3-D with current technology available.

I wonder.. Disney could have made bucketloads of money producing a follow-up game for TLK-fans around the world, even if they stated it was the only true (Disney based) game-sequel that many around the globe will buy en-masse if practicable.. I mean, I personally don't know ANY other community as large as that based around TLK... Atleast not being around as long as TLK community has been...

So yes, game was splendid for it's time. But I wish for 3-D worlds with 3rd and 1st person view.. Let's say something like a 3-D MLK forum with Moka being the omnipresent Mufasa, and available staff being member of the royal family and other canon-characters, like Outsiders for moderators or something perhaps?

Yahoo or MSN like chat abbility, even private dens where people who know each-other well can peform a webcam-chat-session just for those invited if all tools needed are there? Yeah ofcourse.. I am just dreaming.. But again: The original and perhaps ONLY disney based TLK game was really ahead of it's time when it came to ambiance and all. Not as good as Wolfenstein 3-D when it comes to personal taste, and actually having your eyes peel around a sudden corner like you were really there... It was 2-D most of the time, perhaps for some cutscenes for asfar as I can remember...

Just my two cents..

I remember playing that game when I was about 10 years over at a place of a friend of mine. I was totally obsessed by TLK and spent a whole evening playing that game ( I couldn't handle the controller and I still cant play games with controller if there's time pressure, I only able to play Sims 2 build modus)
But I loved the graphics for that time and the music that was digitally added on. :)

A very fun game, I really enjoyed playing it when I was little, although I struggled a lot with the IJCWTBK level.
