At times of the film the voice did kind of dip in quality if I will be honest. But overall I think it was good enough to outweigh those moments. :)

I can see your point. The version I grew up with has a better Simba (I'm biased because the actor's daughter is my friend - and she got to play little Kiara in SP!! - but anyway he's amazing...), maybe more emotional and dramatic but Matthew was not bad either.

"Glory" is another good film with him in the starring role as Col. Shaw who led the 54th Massachusetts colored regiment in the American Civil War. Great film that has stood the test of time...1989 I believe it was.

Great choice for Simba as his voice wasn't too deep like Mr. Jones' but also "old" enough to show a mature Simba.
