In the real world, some people thought that Hitler was the good guy. It really depends on how you were brought up, and what you were taught. The outlanders were only told Zira's POV. It is only natural that they think like her, as that was the only option.

Agreed. During his cubhood, it wasn't a pleasure because it felt like abuse for him. As he grew up, he realizes how much of a change that he makes in himself. He didn't want to live up to Scar's legacey and didn't want to follow in his pawprints.
Agreed. Kovu didn't have any darkness inside him at all. Scar isn't even his real father so how Zira would think that Kovu was just like Scar is beyond me.
I was thinking she was equating herself to Scar and hoped that Kovu would be just like him. In her eyes she was the likeness of Scar herself, and her offspring could be so.
