Simba

I think people are getting the wrong picture here,Simba is not my favorite character,Mufasa is. But yes,Simba is on second place and he's definitely someone I would defend as I find him being a great example. Many people like Kovu, actually most people do,as I do. Don't think that someone doesn't like him just because they like someone better, Simba for instance.
I say that Simba's past can compare. But it's all up to you,I can't dissuade you into believing what I do,as you have your point of view on Kovu and I have mine. Your vision of Kovu's past is obviously much darker than mine is.
Simba has been through his life thinking one thing all the time 'I killed my father.' ,which is,from my point of view,a MUCH harder burden to bear than being trained to kill someone. You might want to tell me that he spent his life in the 'Hakuna Matata' fashion. Yes he has,but do you know why? I know why,it's all just a defensive mechanism of Simba's personality. He couldn't live his life mourning for his father loss, his personality then so to say blocked out that fact and made him live his life he did. It was too much for him to handle and that's how he dealt with it eventually. That's how most people deal with things like that, the mourn in the beginning and then they ''move on''. However, one can never get past something like that, which Simba didn't,he proved it at the end.
Kovu didn't kill Simba because Kiara came in the way. If it weren't for her,who knows how it would have went. I would say Simba would beat Kovu, but you'll probably tell it the other way, which is perfectly fine,it's up to you what to think about it.

I disagree with you. The lion that have good heart like Simba and Kovu, the outlander that now is the part of pridelander, is my favorite character. :) . But the most is Simba ;) .

Simba has had a rough time of it. Betrayed by his uncle, convinced he killed his father, etc... I really can't get how he keeps going, he fights and fights but every time he gets something done he finds another catastrophe

Simba is a character with a lot of different angles, non of which are that easy to pin down. At first, he's just a rambunctious cub who loves to play and thinks being kind will mean he can do whatever he wants. That's not dissimilar to how most children think being an adult will be. They think they will be free to do what they want and no longer have to follow anyone's rules. However, Simba is traumatized by thinking he caused his father's death. That is a HARD burden for anyone to bear. He runs away leaving behind his mother and his friend Nala. He nearly dies in the desert and is only barely saved. Hakuna Matta allows him to block the memories that are plaguing him, but he is still very conflicted. I think Simba was still stuck in adolescence until he met Nala. It was really seeing his father's ghost and talking with Nala, as well as falling in love that made Simba realize he had to come to grips with his past, that holding it in was eating away at him. Simba also has the added difficulty of finding out the burden he bore was not his fault, but his uncle's. How hard it would be to realize your uncle killed your father and tried to kill you! Scar also tried to kill him as an adult! I think Simba had a rough adjustment period when he took the throne because he hadn't had as much guidance as his father had. Also, Simba had been away from lion society a long time, he had to relearn how to be a lion, which would include hunting.

Guys, I'm a sociologist I analyze a lot :)
