In answer to Algi's questions, there's no real proof. Even if you believed in the comics (Which I don't, by the way), it doesn't mention Kovu once. I always believed Zira just adopted him because he was alone. Or (I'm lead to believe this as my own personal opinion) Scar had a mate and they had Kovu, but the mother died, as well as Scar, leaving Kovu by himself. The markings make so much more sense because Kovu looks more similar to Scar than to Zira and her unknown mate.

One of the things that has got be pondering for a while is how hard did Zira actually hit Kovu? I mean, it takes someone who can really pack a punch to cause a scar. If Zira couldn't even lift herself up the edge when she was dangling, she couldn't be that strong.

Any thoughts on either of the questions/answers?

Well, I think Nuka put it best when he said "Scar wasn't even his father, we just took him in." That should answer a lot. Scar wasn't Kovu's father, but I do believe that Zira told the truth when she said "He was hand chosen by Scar to follow in his paw prints and become king!" This says a lot about Kovu's past without shedding any light on it whatsoever.

As far as Zira's strength, she hit Kovu with her claw. It still does take quite a lot of power to cause a scar, but it doesn't take that much effort to break skin. And when she's dangling off the cliff, ask yourself this: Would you be able to pull yourself up a 90 degree incline with no platforms to stand on?

But back to Kovu, I think it's good that they don't go into the history of his father. Leaves the heart to wonder what the mind hides. After all, the mind doth hide what the heart doth seek. And this quote of mine is also very adaptive to Kovu. :ohyeah:

Hmmm... I like Kovu with no scratch on his eye... After Zira hit his eye, his scratch is like Scar have, but i think he doesn't same with Scar. :)

*Nods*

You make some very good points there, Simby. Thank you for answering them all. :)

*Nods again at Algi*

Mmm-hmm. I really hate Kovu got a Scar; it's just so ironic, lol.

The scratch on his eye will make the Kovu design more ugly than the normal. :)
I like Normal Kovu. I like the scratch on Scar's eye than Kovu. ;)

But it's essential for Kovu to receive the scar. Don't you see the message beneath that? Obviously, Kovu looks much more like scar afterward. Which gives Simba more reason to distrust, and thus, exile him. But in the end, it's important that he has the scar so that Simba's unresolved hatred of Scar can be extinguished. It's an ironic twist of the story that not everyone has figured out yet. But that, I believe, is the root cause of why the creators decided to give Kovu a scar in the first place.

And besides, I think Kovu looks much cooler with his scar. :nukalaugh:

Yes, i know that. I think He's very same with Scar after that tragedy. Like the son and the father. Both of them have the same scar... so i think in my mine why the author doesn't take Kovu as Scar's son. :)

That would make Kovu a blood relative of Kiara and that is a hard thing to explain since they are mates.
