Kovu

I apreciate that. :smile4: I, though I may digress, believe myself to be an expert on Kovu. I have analyzed his being until I can no longer find another piece of data to observe. TRP itself is derived from him, for, he is named thus in the movie if you watch closely. Kovu is much more complex than just some emo teenager that happens to get lucky with the Princess of the Pridelands. I believe that view is highly innacurate opinionation.

Insightful is a word that I do not feel fairly applies to me. I strive to understand what it is that makes Kovu such a great character. I see his faults, but I also see a complex and misunderstood individual who deserves more than what he has been given. It is highly important to me that Kovu not be seen in the light of one who is lucky and little else. I feel the same as he, and wish to represent his character as best I can, since he cannot do it himself.

I wonder what must have happened to his real father. That would have been interesting to know more about Kovu's family. I feel sorry that he has to be stuck with Zira as his mother but he was really able to handle being a rogue by himself.

It has troubled me for a long time that one such as Kovu was created by a union between Zira and an unnamed rogue. Kovu is the epitome of a being struggling to control the forces battling within him. His inner turmoil is spawned from the dejected and hateful upbringing he was given and the total alien sensation of being accepted by one who would not use him as a device to their own ends. He is forced to exile himself from the company of others for a time due to the confusion and despair he feels in a life in which his one purpose is to destroy a lion whom he has never had a reason to hate. He is not connected to the issue and if forced to fight on a side he does not fully belong to.

Kovu is indeed much more complex and honorable than the general observer grants him credit for. Kovu has been forced to mature through a rigorous course of training and deprevation that has granted him great strength, but also great turmoil. He is smart, cunning and extremely fit but he has a mind which has been tainted by the depredation of hatred and evil. In essence, Kovu has been corrupted from the path he was meant to take by his mother and only love can bring him back to true.

@ Rogue: Every time I think you explain Kovu great in one post, you just come in with another post and explain him even better. I've always liked Kovu. His multiple emotions makes him a very 3 dimensional character. It's a shame that not many people see him the way you do Rogue. :(
