Because as a cub Taka was gentle and kind to all creatures. But when Ahadi chose Mufasa to be king, Taka was almost gone.

Were Taka and Mufasa born at the same day?
Sometimes I simply sit down and write because I cannot help it. Who knows, perhaps one day something will come out of it. Writing is the only thing that, when I do it, I don't feel I should be doing something else.

How long was Mufasa when you decided to have a 2nd cub? Was it Ahadi's idea or yours and how did the other support it?

Mufasa was about 6 months old. Ahadi wanted a 2nd cub because he wanted to see if it would be stronger than Mufasa.
