I'm not sure what about him a a character - as in not related to his storyline - makes me love him so and think of him as my favorite of them all. I guess he's just too cute, plus it's interesting how wayward he is and has some of the same attitude as Scar had, for what's essential as a king - yet he's such a Daddy's boy (from both's point of views, I think.) I think all that creates a great base fo his years of guilt, and how he then, as a king, probably tried all the more to be his father's son and follow in his paw prints. TLK2 is ok, but I'd prefer his kinghood been left up to fanfiction only. (:
