I mean, come on, he's not that great... He betrayed his own mother, he didn't kill Simba which caused his brother's death, he didn't even have the guts to talk to Simba about Zira's plan... Love is giving the ability someone to destroy you, but trusting them not to.

Well, he was young and confused. He had been taught that the Pridelanders were the bad guys but now he wasn't so sure about it. He just didn't know what to do. Poor guy.

Yeah, Kovu was a spill between his mothers hatred towards the Pridelanders and Simba's hatred towards the Outlanders.....and so was Kiara.
I like how his personality develops from innocent cub, to vicious young adult, then he falls in love and gets some sense into his head.
He sure is a strong character, despite the fact that his (foster) mom is a nutcase :p
