I really like him for being what you said, an empty shell. So typically you can make up his personality, give him a story and count him as an official character (Although you can't count the story official)[/quote]
How do you think you can count Kopa as an official character when Disney has never ever made him so, in fact they have ignored him completely. Apart from allowing those fanfiction books to beceome profit. The only way Kopa could ever be counted as an official character is if the people who made the movies, publicly accept him as such, but so far they have been ignoring him completely and thus Kopa is not and likely will never be an official character in anywhere but some fans' daydreams. And it annoys me to bits that so many spread lies about the matter instead of clarifying that it's just fanfiction.
Why do people try to find an explanation to why Kiara isn't in the Six New Adventures books? I understand fan theories and imagination and all that but there has always been an explenation, so it shouldn't be needed finding: The only real explenation is that because she didn't exist at the point when the books were published. At that point there was just a nameless, and probably also genderless cub, who eventually was officially decided to be a girl named Kiara while ignoring the fanfiction cub. The freakin design of the cub changed most likely because the drawers were different than in the first film. And the ceremony differs most likely because all they needed to remember was that there had been a cub, not frame-to-frame how the ceremony happened. -.-
And what plot holes does Simba's Pride movie have? Apart ftom the cub's design and ceremony differing which really likely is just because the animatiors are different and it had been a long time since the first movie. Simba over-protecting Kiara can easily be caused by mistrust towards the outlanders all in all because they were Scar's supporters and Scar had been backstabbing murderer until his death. There really is no new drama needed. And Zira pushing Kovu to Simba for killing, really doesn't need to have any new drama on the background either; Zira was probably just tempting Simba to kill Scar's chosen follower for revenge of Scar having killed Simba's father. Hence, at that point Simba was in the impression that Kovu was Scar's son. And as some people have already pointed out, if Zira had killed Simba's child, Simba would've killed her instead of just banishing her. And it's not as if he just banished her but a bunch of other lionesses too, so the reason for banishment and the over-protecting of Kiara really and obviously lies simply in the fact that the banished ones were Scar's supporters.
I appreciate and respect all the interesting fanfiction visions and how fun it may be to form theories but I can't help the appreciation and liking greatly falling flat when people don't bother to draw a line between canon and fanon, between facts and fantasy but go on spreading fanfiction stuff as canon facts. Even when facts are literally been asked for.
And a fact is that the Six New Adventures books' authors have no real link to the people of Disney who wrote the movies's plot, and Disney has completely ignored the books and their characters, so they are not official or even semi-canon but just fanfiction.
