I love how Simba views becoming king as a chance to get his way in everything all the time. It was really interesting how they explored the opposite angle of that with Kiara.

Though it was perhaps a bit too sharp of a contrast :\ that's the thing with disney sequels. Even when they're really good ones like TLK lol

I think Simba is nice in TLK. But, while in SP, he's lame But one thing is, simba is cool. I thought I could maybe put the simba smiles just for fun.

I don’t think so, it was in interesting new look at king/queenship, and it gives more emotional depth to Kiaras character.

Simba and Kiaras stories are very different. Simba ran away from his past, and was forced to deal with it in adulthood. Kiara struggled from cubhood with the feeling that her life was planned for her, that she never would get a chance to have fun. So when Simba ran and hid from his problems, Kiara was in the middle of them all the time, continiously forced to deal with them.
(Nothing bad about Simba, just saying..)

I think he should have been okay after taking his place as King, it's so sad and a little annoying that he still had problems in SP :\

Yes, he struggles to let go of his past. He is haunted by nightmares about Scar and his fathers death, he can’t let go of the hatred and grudge against Scar. Kovu being around just adds water to the mill...

He was okay before Kovu showed up, as shown by We are one, he was definitely able to be a compassionate and encouraging father.

Yeah, I agree. Kovu was the instigator that made Simba really have to go back into his past. No one wants to think about that, especially Simba, who had a crazy time growing up. I understand the conflict that Simba felt with Kovu, and actually he was right in judging him at first because Kovu was actually trying to kill him! Later, though, he needed to let go of his prejudice and trust in his daughter's instincts. I would have the same trouble trying to forgive someone who came from such a group as Scar's followers, but Simba needed to realize that Scar and Kovu were not the same person (even though Kovu's scar and eye color are quite the coincidences!) I love heroes that are flawed like Simba...makes them much more interesting to me.
