Canon means official. Kopa is pretty much officially semi-canon, but the Lion King is a fictional franchise therefore you can believe whatever you like.

^ No it doesn't. Something can be official but not canon. I can't really explain it myself, though.. Isn't it what is accepted by the film makers? Kopa is official because he has the stamp of approval, but he's not canon because he wasn't in the films/isn't approved by the film makers. I might be wrong, though.

Kay, so 'Kopa' is official in the books of TLK: 6 New Adventures. In other words, he is not a fan character but a legitimate member of the franchise because he appeared in a published book. He, however, may not be a canon member of the TLK universe, coinciding with the movies.

Lawl, I tried explaining it myself. x] I'm not sure if it's right, but that's my view on the TLK canon.. I remember Moka explained it in a thread but I can't find it
