Okay i am finally breaking down and watching TLK3

Postby simba007 » May 24th, 2010, 2:42 am

pretty soon I am going to watch it, I was initially disappointed by the revlews, and I was afraid of the direct-to-video release.. Yes, i know, what kind of a fan am i.. but no - point taken, and now I am wondering what to expect from this film. do the eyes change color?

Do you believe it has as much depth as the original? What's your favorite/least favorite [if applicable] thing about it? just looking for what to expect honestly =\

You can't always just go by what other people say. ^^ Reviews are just opinions after all and everyone's opinions differ. :) TLK2SP was also a Direct-To-Video movie, so that shouldn't really scare you too much, unless you disliked TLK2SP of course. :) As for TLK 1 1/2, I think it succeeds in being a decent TlK movie and since it doesn't take itself very seriously, it's quite enjoyable to watch. As far as true sequels go though, it defintely falls in last place out of the three films but there again, that's just my opinion. :) Definitely give it a watch at least once. :)

It's not a BAD movie, I think. It's actually really funny and enjoyable. There were plenty of moments in it that made me start to laugh really hard.
The only reason people don't love it, I think, is because it's not really what most of us were looking for in a LK sequel. We wanted a new, epic storyline with lions and roaring and stuff. What we got was a Timon and Pumbaa buddy movie.
Go and watch it, but don't expect too terribly much from it. It's a fun movie. But it's more "at the shallow end of the dream pool".

Agreed almost entirely. When you take it for what it is, it's enjoyable and actually has some pretty funny moments. If you were looking for a sequel to SP, or a prequel, or something that actually really furthers or deepens the main storyline, of course you're going to be disappointed. But if you take it for what it is, it's fairly easy to enjoy.

It's not so bad, the songs slightly cheesy, but who cares? It's awesome! :sneaky2:

It took me way too long to report back.. but man was i wrong

i thought it was going to be a total letdown and that it would not even COMPARE to the original

BUT it was a good movie. funny.. and themed with humor that was occasionally mature "meerkat: it's what's for dinner". very mystery-science-theater-like throwback.

i laughed a lot and enjoyed how they spliced the timelines together.

any lion king fan should see this movie
