8 reasons why Vitani and Nuka are NOT Scar's children

I noticed that some fans ignorantly conclude that Nuka and Vitani are Scar's children. Well, time to end this debate once and for all, Wether Vitani and Nuka are Scar's children or not. Here are 8 reasons (or facts, as I should actually call them) why Vitani and Nuka are NOT Scar's spawns. There might be even more reasons though, but those are all the reasons I can come up with so far.



1 Nuka and Vitani never called Scar ''dad''.

2 Neither did both of them claim to be his son/daughter.

3 Not even Zira stated that Nuka and Vitani ARE Scar's children, neither did she say she was Scar's mate.

4 When Nuka died, Zira said: ''Scar, watch over my poor Nuka'' rather then: ''Scar, watch over OUR poor Nuka'' which proves Nuka isn't Scar's son.

5 Some think Nuka is Scar's son because of the same fur and mane colour. However, this doesn't mean he really is Scar's son. It could be simply because of Nuka's genes that he looks like Scar.

6 If Vitani and Nuka would really be Scar's children, then the creators of Simba's Pride would have simply made that clear to the audience.

7 Believers often use Nuka's quote where he says about Kovu: ''Scar wasn't even his father'' as evidence that Nuka is Scar's son. However, does Nuka DIRECTLY call himself Scar's son? No? Invalid Argument... Nuka didn't thought he should be Scar's heir because he is Scar's son and Kovu isn't, but only because he simply thought he is the oldest, strongest, and smartest.

8 There are believers who ignorantly draw the conclusion that Vitani and Nuka are Scar's children, only just because it ''fits'' best to them. But They can't draw that conclusion unless they'll get a confirmation of the SP creators first.

These are some good reasons. However in my self-canon, I believe Scar was Nuka's father. But that doesn't mean I believe that he was Vitani's father. I personally think that Tojo is Vitani's father. Why?

Because Zira knew Scar's offspring/genes were weak ( Nuka for example ) and not fit for king. So she went out of her way to find another male ( obviously rogue ) and Tojo ( who I imagine would be old enough to mate and have cubs ) saw Zira. She played the part of another rogue lioness, toyed with his emotions, and they mated and thus conceiving Vitani. But when she was born Scar wanted nothing to do with a princess, he wanted a prince.

This is just an unconfirmed theory with a lack of evidence, Sorry. Also, Tojo doesn't even appear in the movie universe at all. And this thread is only focussed on Simba's Pride, not the comic universe where Tojo appeared.

Something which I don't see mentioned too often in this argument is the cut scene from Simba's Pride where Nuka and Vitani tell Zira about Kiara's presentation. It may have been scrapped from the movie, but I think it's still worth bringing up. When Zira learns that Simba's cub is a girl, she says, "Scar, my love, did you hear that? This couldn't be more perfect!", then the following exchange occurs between Nuka and Vitani:

NUKA [confused]: Who's she talking to?
VITANI [quietly]: Shhh...Scar.
NUKA [gasping, terrified]: Where? Where!?
VITANI [annoyed]: Scar's dead, genius!

Then, later in the same scene, Nuka tells Zira: "You know, speaking of kings...I was thinking, since I am the oldest...maybe I should be king! Huh?" Although you could make the argument that Nuka and Vitani are Scar's children but were just never told that they're his children, with the way Zira worships Scar, wouldn't you think she'd take every opportunity to boast how one or more of her cubs were his offspring? (Though I have seen fan fiction where Nuka is never told he is Scar's offspring because Scar refused to let anyone know that such a weak, scrawny lion is his son*.)



*Still, I'd think Zira telling Nuka the truth in this scenario would really fit her character: with the way she despises Nuka, telling him that he is Scar's true son but was such a disappointment that Scar chose a cub that wasn't even his to be his heir would be the ultimate slap in the face.

Zira was first meant to be Scar's mate but they changed her to be just Scar's follower at the middle of the movie's production (this is confirmed by SP director Darrel Rooney) That also probally explains why that deleted scene was removed. So, bringing up that deleted scene is invalid.

And Nuka still didn't say he is Scar's son. He just thought he should be Scar's heir because he is the oldest of Zira's cubs only, and not Scar's cubs. Also, It makes no sense if the SP creators would make it clear to the audience that Scar isn't kovu's father, but not that Vitani and Nuka are Scar's kids and just leave the audience to figure that out for themselves whitout ever giving them a confirmation.

You see that is fair enough, but the reason why so many people believe things like this is because people such as yourself fail to mention its their own ideas and cast them as facts, so kudos to you for mentioning it ^^

At OP - I never did think they were his children and I do not disagree with any of the reasons listed. Those are all concrete facts, but I can see how people who have their own ideas would be able to materialise an answer for those XD
