If Kiara doesn't want to be queen, who will be Simba's heir?

Right before the "We are One" musical sequence, Kiara states she doesn't want to be queen. I assume she still holds that same feeling at the end of the movie. But, since Kiara is Simba's heir and successor to the throne, who will succeed Simba?

Maybe Kovu? Well, it is known Scar chose him to be his heir, and when Scar dies and Zira loses access to Pride Rock, she brainwashes him to kill Simba, and become the king. But, it is never really known if Kovu personally wanted the throne to begin with.

Maybe Vitani? Siblings of a royal heir can have the throne if their sibling doesn't produce a successor, like if Mufasa died not having Simba as his heir, then, Scar becomes king. However, the movie didn't tell us much of Vitani or what's her personality, but I guess she doesn't want the throne, and is happy enough to be a Pridelander.

So, who will be Simba's successor based on those assumptions? Unless Simba and Nala have a son?

I don't think Kiara still felt that way. She was young when she said that. I think her and Kovu will be king and queen.

Assumeimg she felt that way, they would most likely give the spot to Vitani and Kopa if he ever returns

Actually, considering Kovu was an outsider and Kiara is of royal blood, even if they did take the throne, Kiara would be Queen, but considering Kovu is a commoner that would make him the Prince Consort. There is no way Kovu could rein because he has no royal blood, the only thing he can become is the Prince Consort if Kiara becomes queen and the are mates. Therefore he is not an heir, so Vitani would be ruled out. Meaning Kiara is the only heir and has to become queen as she has no siblings [Unless you count Kopa]. I believe Kiara wanted to be queen by the end of the film though.

I think they were referring the movie canon.

*shrugs* Kovu could be the only one who could become his heir, there aren't really any other males on Pride Rock.

Then how did Nala become Queen? o.O

I'm not sure, I think it's different when the King chooses a mate but TLK may not follow human rules anyway. Nala is Queen, but is lesser to Simba because she isn't of royal blood. So to say, going by the royal human rules Kovu would be a Prince Regent [That's what I meant when I said consort. My mistake, lol]

I think at the end, Kiara did want to become queen, I think she would do a perfect job at it with her heart and Kovu by her side.

Kovu was hand chosen by Scar to be his heir, so I think he does have a right to reign as king despite not having royal blood.

Kovu can become King Consort if Kiara gives him that title if she does become Queen.

Well, Scar wasn't the rightful king. He would have been if Simba had died.
