A funny thing I've noticed about this scene in my language: betrothals don't exist. Here's the dialogue from that scene in english:
Zazu: Oh just look at you two! Two little seeds of romance blossoming in the savannah. Your parents will be thrilled, seeing you two flirting like that!
Simba: Flir-what?
Zazu: Flirting! Becoming boyfriend and girlfriend! Getting engaged!
Nala: That means...?
Zazu: One day, you two will be married!
Simba: Yuck! / Nala: Ew!
Simba: I can't marry her, she's my friend!
Nala: Yeah, it would be so weird!
Zazu: Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you two lovebirds, but you have no choice. It’s a tradition (i.e marriage) going back generations.
Simba: When I'm king, that will be over.
