Why exactly did Nala and Simba fall in love?

*Nods at Pixie*

And little kids (Or cubbies) usually think the thought of marriage, love, or crushes completely revolting. As mentioned with Simba and Nala; they had no intention or reason to love one another as cubs, lol.
I dated someone who I had known since I was 5.
Aww I like that kind of story! So cute... :edexcited:
Yes, Nala and Simba's courting was rushed, but they do only have 90 minutes on average, right? They needed more time for other awesomeness.
Their relationship was a relationship subplot, there was no time to dedicate 15 minutes to the courting, of course.

I`d just like to say that I really appreciate that there are a lot of Simba/Nala cub romance stories going on at ff.net. This really inspires me to write one myself, but I`m very strict with myself. It has to be good writing, and I wouldn`t publish the story until I had finished it on my own.

Me too. I'm a sucker for that kind of fanfiction. Try to write it. I know I would if English was my first language.

I think they had a crush on each other as cubs, and when they saw each other after all these years they actually fell in love.
I don't think their love was rushed at all. In my opinion, i'ts clear that Simba and Nala like each other as cubs. They just don't understand the concept of love yet. After Simba disappears and we see Scar telling the lionesses what happened, Cubby Nala is balling her eyes out. I mean, Simba was her best friend but wouldn't that be a clue about her deeper feelings for him? Anyways, after finding out that Simba's alive, Nala even confesses how much she's missed him and how much he means to her, so again, she obviously knew that there was more than friendship there to begin with. If you had a best friend who you liked when you were younger and thought they were dead, only to be reunited with them quite a while later, I think that's more than enough to spark a romantic love and in my eyes, it's justified. :)
Agreed! :)

"She's All Grown Up" (childhood friend, who the hero hasn't seen in a long time, returns and much to his surprise, is stunning now. He realizes that his friend that he never thought of "that way" really can be thought of "that way")

and

"Victorious Childhood Friend" (Two people grow up like brother And sister, as best friends - and then, somewhere along the way, they realize that they love each other romantically. They may have always been just friends until puberty hit and their hormones did their thing, or someone may have had a childhood crush that was eventually reciprocated. They were friends when they were little and then they meet again years later after being separated and now, she is all grown up.)

(TvTropes 8-) )
