I completely agree with you. Timon and Pumbaa were WAY too exposed,I mean, they even had a TV show, why would you go ahead and dedicate another movie mostly to them. You'd think Disney would know better than that. Or not...

Yes,more interactions between them would have been quite entertaining.
It's like Disney said: ''Okay,we got no more ideas, let's just re-do something from the past...'' I just hope that IF there is another sequel, which I would welcome with open paws, that it's no kind of a re-do,no subplot during other movies but a real legit sequel! Or better yet,prequel...[/quote]
But what you two fail to understand is while everybody can enjoy Disney movies, they are mostly focused on a younger age audience. That being said, young children don't really understand the significance of aspects such as pain, love, and all around emotion in movies. Young children focus on comedy. I can tell you this from experience, as I did the exact same thing. While I do like this movie, and I'm proud to have it in my collection, you must understand that Disney made this movie with one of two goals in mind:
1. Shed a little light on Timon and Pumba's past. Give the audience a little bit more to work with on how the dynamic duo came to be and give them a few more jokes to laugh at.
2. They saw a huge pile of cash and they wanted to be scrooge McDuck.
Either way explains why they put a lot of emphasis on Timon and Pumba.
...
And by the way Ivan, Disney could NEVER run out of ideas! Princess and the Frog shattered my expectations.
