Because of how short the segment is, it took me a few re-viewings to finally catch the music. So you can do that (keep rewinding until you get it), or you can do a little bit of research.
The music you are listening out for is called
Plotting from The Lion King Complete score. The first half is a dark, mysterious piece excluded in the finally release that frankly reminds me a lot of the score from the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
The second half is the brighter music we finally hear in the movie, when Simba fetches Nala to 'go to the waterhole'. Then we cut to Zazu leading them to said waterhole, but it's still not the music we want. As Simba and Nala discuss about how to get rid of the bird, Zazu lands in front of them to express his pleasure and to tell them about their betrothal.
And that's what we want. At the
3:20 mark, the music suddenly changes into a flute playing the melody we all know and love. And this goes on until 3: 38, meaning only 18 seconds. Not a long time, but once you hear it once, you catch it all the time.
And frankly, I love this little cameo of things yet to come.
