Is Nala Vitani's real mother?

In my opinion, when it comes to parents/children relationships in Disney movies, it’s usually pretty straight forward. The people a child (or in this movie, cub) refers to as "mother" or "father" usually is their mother or father.

I honestly don’t see a reason why we shouldn’t believe that Zira is Vitani’s mother. Nuka, Vitani and Kovu are all shown as Ziras cubs, so that must be the case. I don’t think the animators makes it any more complicated than that.

For example, why should be believe that another lioness is Nalas mother when she refers to Sarafina as "Mum"?

Just my opinion. And another thing, if Nala WAS Vitanis mother, who would her father be? Vitani looks nothing like Nala, more like Scar and Zira. It’s far more likely that she’s Scar and Zira’s daughter, or perhaps the daughter of Zira and a rogue, which would explain her orange fur and blue eyes, which couldn’t originate from Nala, Scar or Zira.

But I agree with PK, if Vitani was Nala's cub, who would the father be?

There is 0% chance Vitani would have ended up in the outlands if she was Nala's daughter, she would have been heir.

Not to sound mean, but don't you think we are thinking a little too much about this? Since it's a "kid's" movie, they wouldn't make it this complicated. I think Vitani looks like a mix between Scar and Zira. I have no doubt that Nuka is Scar and Zira's cub, but i'm wondering if Scar was alive long enough to be the father of Vitani!! Since Vitani, Kiara, and Kovu look the be the same age, wouldn't she have been born around the same time Kiara was? It wouldn't make sense for Nala to be her mom because since she looks the same age as Kiara, wouldn't they be in the same litter?

I do like the idea of Nala being Vitani's mother, though I believe it's really Zira.
