Lol. I like SP but that comic is hilarious. Especially that Rafiki and Timon & Pumbaa's speach bubble... :P

I don't think it's spot on though and could be taken as a bit more serious humour critique if it didn't over-kill.

1.) Kovu isn't looking to score Kiara.

I think he is
Few films are absolutely perfect. I like Simba's Pride, if not more for the nostalgia than for what it actually is. I was eight when it came out and grew up with Kiara and Kovu almost just as much as I grew up with Simba and Nala. SP is far from perfect and I think that if I saw it for the first time today I wouldn't have enjoyed it very much. But nostalgia is a strong force with me :P
Kind of the same here, I remember being very young when TLKII came out, this was a time when I did not find out about things until they just arrived in stores. It was just another day and then my sister came in from school like "Oh look a new Lion King film" and I loved it since. I think it would still be okay watching it for the first time now though, I think it had a pretty good plot overall.

Seeing to that TLK2 is not like Hercules, I'm betting on the option that he was just happy to see her for the first time since cubhood.

That's probably why I can't enjoy it. I didn't grew up with SP. I remember buying the tape in 98 for my birthday.
I watched it but I didn't enjoy it enough to grow up with it. SP was always the dusty tape and I have no childhood memories of this movie.
Then some years later when I started loving the first one, I decided to give it a chance. I was 13 years old and it was like watching it for the first time but I still didn't like it.
I mean, it was not the worst movie I've ever seen in my life, but I was 13, loved the first one and had no attachment to the second.
Never watched it again. Most of the things I know today about SP are things I'm learning from this board.
I've seen some small parts of it lately but when I found Upendi again... forget it.

I grew up with it too. I had TLKII As well as TLK for most of my life, so I always had both, but by far I watched TLK a whole lot more, I didn't really like Kiara, or Kovu, I prefered TLK. It's just they way it went, I think Kiara was just annoying to me, and this was well before I found out about Kopa, and I never really read the 6NA books xD; So all in all I prefer TLK overall, but I would think most people would, would they not?

I turned 11 when TLK cmae out on VHS and I got it just about immediately. So I didn't get to downright grow up with it for too long as a child. I was 14 when SP came out, I think I bought it right away but I don't remember anything from the view or any views afterwards. Nor do I remember regarding it much in any way apart from watching it occasionally. So apparently it didn't impress me much, unlike TLK which I've sen umpteen times since it was released and remember many of those times and have lots of loved memories. But also apparently SP didn't disappoint me either because I don't have negative memories either, and I would watch it any day if someone asked to watch it with them.

The new characters are fine and I heart cubbie Kovu and the concept of Kovu's character over-all. The plot is fine too, though falls flat in comparasion to TLK's intense, dramatic plot. I do wish they'd taken the original a bit more seriously in some things, but to me it seems that they tried. And seeing to certain other Disney classic sequels, especially of late - SP is a masterpiece.

I consider SP, Lady and the Tramp 2 and Fox and the Hound 2 the best sequels Disney's made. (:
