Why does everybody like Kovu?

Just because he has a dark name and frowns sometimes doesn't mean he's emo! He's just frowning, not getting all emotional and whatnot.

I think fans like him cause he's like a complete opposite of what Simba is. Cause Kovu is very dark a mythotical. I am definitely a Kovu fan. I loved him as a cub that's for sure. But I think he is a character you do feel sorry for. Cause's he's like a prisoner of Zira almost. Just imagine the life he had being raised by Zira? I don't even wanna know what that was like.

Aw, screw Kovu. I say Chaka/Kopa/Tanabi shoulda been the main character and Vitani should've been the primary love interest. Let Kovu do his "trained-serial-killer" thing and leave the romance to 'Tani. :P

I believe the fans love Kovu for his transition and his romance relationship with Kiara throughout the movie. Also, Kovu was to be resembled Scar and Disney showed us even the trained killer can be destined to be a better person from his/her past, remember Simba's talk with Kovu while walking through the burned Pridelands?

I've been wondering why everyone likes Kovu too.

He's such a basket case, flake, and yea, emo. And then when things go to hell he wonders just why. He also seems too humanized like with his mane which looks ridiculous IMO. I just never understood why he's so popular.
