I'm not sure they will ever make a sequel involving TLK. The kids in this generation really could care less about it. I'm not saying all children don't like TLK, but I know they would much rather push Pixar films and Princess/Fairies, than TLK. I have a friend that works at WDW and the only thing they have TLK? Festival of The Lion King, and the base theme for the Animal Kingdom Lodge. They announced a new moderate resort with the themes of The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Cars, and Fantasia, but honestly, that's about it.
And another little thing to add to someone's great reasoning behind a logical plot for a TLK4, what about the music? TLK is world renown for its beautiful music and they did a passing job with SP. From what I've heard, Disney is talking about "getting rid" of musical movies in the future. Apparently it isn't as "popular" as it once was.
It's pretty sad actually, but a friend and I have been realizing the slow turn from "girl" movies (like anything Princess or centered around a heroine) to "boy" movies being pushed drastically these next few years. I'm not sure where TLK would fit, if it would fit at all. I guess the only thing to look forward to is that Diamond edition and the hopefully re-release of it into theaters like they did to Beauty and The Beast.
PS: And whoever said Justin Bieber was Disney, boy have you got your pop stars crossed.
