No it is not sad in a film when a pure villain dies, unless they have a decent backstory and stuff, which Scar does not.
Ehh it might not be sad to a first time viewer, but for fans that read about or speculate Scar's history, it can get sad to see such an important character die...especially in such a way.

Was it sad for me? No. Did he deserve a more noble death? Probably not. But I still feel sorry for Scar.

I will say this: compared to Mufasa's death, Scar's death is almost comical.

It was sad because he was hated and always living in Mufasa's shadow.
^^^^^ I agree with TPAM, he had an absoloutly HORRIBLE childhood. He was never happy.
Based on...?
Seriously, think about the proof you have. And 6NA is not proof, because it wasn't in the movie and was made after the movie. They didn't create a history for Scar, and the writers of 6NA just made it up as they went along. There is no reason to think that Scar had an "absolutely horrible" childhood. If you're going to say that, say "In my opinion" or "In my fanfic/drawings/universe" because it's not what actually happened. And even then, the "proof" in 6NA is minimal. Scar looks like a little brat in that book.

I felt sorry for Scar, but it's not really sad.. at least not as sad as Mufasa's death.

I didn't feel sorry for his death. You may go speculate about his childhood being terrible and sad,but to me, that can never justify the fact that he actually killed his own brother. He killed Mufasa and has with that grown or actually lowered himself to a level where you can say that he almost ''deserves'' to die. Harsh words, but after watching Mufasa death,Scar's death is not sad at all. Although, every death is sad,Scar's is as well in some point, but it's certainly something that he had coming.

I know he had it coming. But if you speculate, in my opinion, I think you couldn't help but feel a little sorry.

A little sorry, yes,it's someone dying. But in comparison to Mufasa's death,it's on a whole different level.

Possibly, but by the looks of it, I think you're a Mufasa fan. Maybe this all depends on who you favorite character is. I being a Scar fan, think his death was a little sad.

This is not influenced by me being a Mufasa fan. It's pretty clear why I feel less sad for Scar's death. You would think Mufasa's death is sadder too, wouldn't you?

Yes, definetly. Mufasa's death was way sadder. But I feel a little bit sorry for Scar.
