Well, they might tasted good. 8-) We can't be sure. But judging from Simba's expression when he tasted them they did. :P

I believe I read that Lions do in fact eat bugs sometimes. SO I assume that if they won't taste the best, that they at least would be bearable.

National Geographic ran an article about how bugs might be used to lower world hunger. They are easy to get a lot of, and they are surprisingly nutritious.

Indeed. They contain a lot of protein and are quite healthy. :)

As long as I don't have to eat them straight up and they're in a tasty dish or soup or something... I would definitely try it.

Man that's a shame, I'd be too disgusted to eat a bug..

Lol, imagine if people were like this:

"Ooooh, butterfly! Lunch time! *catches and eats*" that doesn't sound right. O.o

Well, on topic, he probably didn't like it but it satisfied his hunger. He was kind of disgusted by the bugs but felt fullfiled after eating it. (Well, for some reason.. no idea how he managed to survive just by eating bugs, that's impossible for a lion.)

Lions need...13 pounds of meat per day, I think?

It's pretty improbable that Simba could scavenge that many bugs in one day.

He did live in a jungle, which is filled with insects. Plus, he was younger and smaller, so he would have needed less. I don't think he grew up on an appetizing diet - slimy yet satisfying. They will remove your hunger, but you won't have a reason to feast on them. Great dieting tools.
