Why exactly did Nala and Simba fall in love?

I think the story kind of needed it, but you SO saw it coming. They were cubs and say, We can't be married. Yea, it'sd be too weird and all. But like NTM said, They needed it otherwise, Kiara wouldn't be and No one for Kovu. So sad.

You know one another, you have a tight bond, and things go from there.
I think that sentence somewhat contradicts your main point. If love "just happens", then it can't start from a "tight bond" and then "go from there".

Even in the situations you described, the real "love" itself didn't necessarily happen straight away. They developed a tight bond, as you called it, and realized that they could possibly become something more. So they took a chance, and their love ended up developing over the time they spent with one another. That's not exactly, just happening.
Yeah, didn't I later on just note that I was being too brief, that that's what I meant? Not that it JUST HAPPENS, that you'd need at least some sort of bond first?

I feel like I said that somewhere but I'm starting to lose track of where I said things and in which threads! D:

EDIT: Yeah, the part you quoted. That was me stating what I meant at first since NTM noted a bit of a flaw with my so-called "main point," not a totally new idea. I don't believe in both things. Just the second part, what you quoted. The first part was me being way too vague.

Though I wouldn't be surprised if it still doesn't make sense; I wrote these while multitasking my butt off so not all the focus was there, you know? :)

i think that Simba and Nala fell in love because Simba saved the Pridelands and won her love... and when Nala moved away from the pridelands to find help, (because she didn't want to mate with Scar) they almost didn't fall in love because Simba and her had that fight over saving the Pridelands so really it's mufasa's fault because if he didn't convince Simba to go back Nala would've had to Fight scar on her own and become queen...
, Cubby Nala is balling her eyes out. I mean, Simba was her best friend but wouldn't that be a clue about her deeper feelings for him? Anyways, after finding out that Simba's alive, Nala even confesses how much she's missed him and how much he means to her, so again, she obviously knew that there was more than friendship there to begin with.
Your best friend ever, and possibly only friend ever, just died. Wouldn't you be sad too? Plus she only shed a single tear.

Well, if you didn't see a friend for a long time, wouldn't you miss them? Especially if you thought they were gone forever, aka dead. Friends do mean a lot to you too.

Honestly, I don't quite like the Simba/Nala pairing much. I only like it because it's a canon pairing but other then that, I can't really like it. They seemed more like just friends. But Disney can't understand that concept, apparently.

Yeah, I'll take a bet it was you trying to multi-task too much and not realizing exactly what it was you were saying. Haha. Because I actually didn't notice the contradiction until you tried to explain what you meant in the first post. My problem was with these two statements:
Well, I was going for brevity, but I guess I needed to be unnecessarily wordy. Love just happens between two beings who know each other. You know one another, you have a tight bond, and things go from there.
This is the first portion of your second post. Read sentence two. You state that love "just happens" between two beings who know each other. Now read sentence three. You now state that two beings know each other, and then things "go from there".

The issue comes in the "go from there" part, not whether the two beings know each other or not. If things have to "go from there" after the two know each other, the love doesn't "just happen". The two statements are contradictory. Saying that things "go from there" implies that the change in affection takes place over a period of time, whilst the love "just happening" implies it's going to happen right away, at a moment's notice.

I don't mean to be nit-picky, I get the feeling you just mistyped while trying to do too many things at once, but I figured it'd be best to point it out because I'm sure you weren't intending to contradict yourself. I know I usually try not to aim to contradict myself. Lol.
They seemed more like just friends. But Disney can't understand that concept, apparently.
Yeah, or perhaps Disney does understand the concept, but they also understand that that concept doesn't appeal quite so well to younger audiences. Kids love the sappy, love stories; not to mention, they're what Disney is known for. You're certainly welcome to your own opinion, but why all the Disney hate? All of your posts seem to be about something you think Disney did or is doing wrong. :|

LOL, very nit-picky, yes! But I don't mind at all, trust me.

To be perfectly honest with you, I use the phrase "just happens" way too much, like it's nobody's business. Ask anyone I speak to on a daily basis. My interpretation of it is a little different, I guess. I'm not trying to say that it's spontaneous. When I say "just happens," I'm trying to talk about the entire process, as in like, the entire process "just happens." The process of someone meeting another, forming a bond, going from there. It might look like a contradiction from another point of view and I can definitely see why. Trust me, it's just a habit of mine.

I hope I'm a lot clearer with what I was trying to get across by now. :)

Very much so. xD

I can certainly understand that tendency. I have a similar habit in lumping certain things together; and it makes perfect sense to me, but other people kinda look at me weird like I said something really stupid. Haha.

I just want to say something here.. Naturally she must have been devastated when she thought Simba was dead, but seeing what was happening around her in that moment... first she reacts with grief to the news of Simba and Mufasa, then with horror and disbelief as the Hyenas slowly invade.. There must have been a huge ammount of feelings and impressions for the cub to deal with at that point. I’m sure Nala broke down in tears countless times over the years as she thought of Simba.

And another thing: We never see Sarabi even shed one tear. She simply bows her head in grief, her face torn in pain.. but she doesn’t weep. She just learned that both her husband and only cub died, it seems natural to me that she would react with tears. Still I have no doubt that Sarabi loved her family above everything.
