atouchofgrace, I'm not quite sure if that massive post and it's point was aimed at me but because it might be...

...I wish to make clear that I think whether Disney itself gives a rat's butt about anything, is irrelevant to the point of these discussions, and that I really don't think I care too much.

Because when we are discussing and debating what really is and isn't in the movies, then what Disney really means to be in them is what matters and should be cared about. And, since all those facts have been publicly laied out by Disney and the books' authors, they apparently mean people to find them, learn them, and then be free to use them in the discussions.

And I've already made a point that since once upon a time someone or someones created the terms of "canon", "official", "semi-official" and "fanfiction" into the concept of a fandom of a fiction - they naturally matter in general and thus caring about them is fine.

Well. If what SPS says is "true" than he must think that Kopa never excisted.

It is an undeniable truth that the cub's creators haven't refered to it as Kopa or even as a male, and it is an undeniable truth that Kopa isn't mentioned in the sequel film in any way. Therefore Kopa never existed in the movie universe.

So, yes, I think Kopa never existed in the movie universe. I have never said he doesn't exist in the books because obviously he does. But for them, there is the undeniable truth that Kiara isn't mentioned in them in any way and how could she be as she didn't even exist back then. All this results that Kiara and Kopa do not exist in each other's stories.

I don't think that makes a lot of sense. Why would Disney make Simba have 3 cubs?

They didn't. They made them have two cubs. One in the movie universe and one in the book universe. This has already been explained through the facts.

Or why would Disney make a cub go from boy to girl?

They didn't. This too has already been explained through the fact that Fluffy didn't have a gender until Kiara, and how not a single one of the movies or even their makers have ever said that Kopa exists in their stories while the canon film's makers have downright in words confirmed that he didn't in theirs.

You keep asking these questions because you keep ignoring the facts. And that's just silly.

For all those people who say, "We don't know if the cub at the end of TLK was a boy or girl", let me say this. Okay, baby Simba and baby Kopa look A LOT alike. Why would people say the TLK cub was a girl then? I choose to beleive that Kopa was the TLK cub.

Because Kopa wasn't created by Disney. As in it wasn't Disney who decided that a cub who looks like its father has to be a male. In fact, TLK film implies that a male doesn't always look like the father, as Scar and Mufasa look commpletely different from each others. This gives room for a high posisbility that females too may look like either parent.

But why wouldn't Disney keep Kopa?

I already gave a valid guess: because Kopa wasn't created by Disney and wasn't even a character from an old, epic tale - while Disney Animation people have so far used only their own original characters or adapted characters from old, epic tales.

I agree with SBS, as I said before, Kopa and kiara can't excist in eachothers world, because they both come from different people and stories They do excist, just seperatly.

It's not "evidence", it's evidence, as the most crucial of it are cold, hard, solid facts. If they don't convince you, so be it. I just think it's silly.

You can say it as loud as you want but it doesn't change the fact that officially he doesn't exist in the movies. Hmh. I have a question purely out of sincere curiosity: Why is it so impossible for you to accept the fact that he doesn't exist in the movies officially? I mean, what do you feel it would be away from you to accept the fact and then just keep on prefering the fanon idea that it is Kopa?

But yeah, does it really matter whether Kopa excists in the movies? If he does, then he wasn't in the second one, so isn't it easier to accept that Kopa is strictly a book character and not a film one, than know that if he was in the first movie, but not in the second, something must have happened to him? While if you stick to the books, Kopa will be safe and sounds?If you know what I mean.

Btw, SBS? You should make sure Flipmode is OK with you using the banner thing, I don't know if he is, but if he isn't then it's probably best to take it down, but i'm OK with it I'm just unsure if he wants it to be in the public eye after what happened earlier.

Sometimes I cringe with some things I read about Kopa. How he was killed and all. If some fans love him that much why do they must kill him?
