I agree. Of course, Scar was right into his moment of triumph. I always though of his plans taking right into action the next day. A few days later could've been too long for the climax to happen in the movie.

I've always thought it was about a week later. Mufasa probably wouldn't let Simba go off on his own again if it had been a day ago since he had the incident with the hyenas
