What Do You Think Really Killed Mufasa?

I would have to agree that it was a combination. This all depends on peoples' interpretations about what really killed Mufasa.

The first is the obvious, it was Scar!

For those that put more thought into it, it would clearly be the stampede. Having lots of hooves crushing you is kind of hard to get out of.

*BUT* My question is (stated before): didn't Mufasa survive getting stuck under the stampede the first time after he rescued Simba and placed him on the rock? If he didn't fall, he might have been able to avoid death again since he's very strong. Does this mean that it was the long fall that was actually the real killer?

@pounce: But Mufasa wasn't as tired and in some control the first time. Being thrown into the stampede after already trying to survive it once makes a difference.

Mufasa would've gone splat falling that far onto solid rock. That would've killed him initially. However, even if he had any smideon of life left in him the wildebeasts would've ended it in seconds.

I would say both, he would probably have been hit by the wildebeest and the ground at pretty much the same time. He would have died straight away from the force of both.

Simba caused it because he was trying to eat an iguana, but he ended up roaring and it caused the wildebeest to come and kill him. I think both killed him. But if the reason wasn't shown, in Lion King 1 1/2, they may have used another "fart" joke. Like Pumbaa farting and the wildebeest running away.
