A lion character sure.
In bambi i didn't know if Flower was a guy or a girl until he was an adult.
In tarzan wasn't sure if terk was a girl or a guy. I'm still not sure.
Besides, i know disney intended for them to be female but i see them as more masculine than the others around them therefore as males.

It's called feminism :mega: but for the clearness towards the children, disney makes females maneless, so they're all lionesses, even if they're scruffy and stuff. Nuka and Kovu are the only male outlanders in SP.

They're lionesses. Because Simba would NEVER accept a pride of MALE lions.
I never said he accepted them. There were only 13 lionesses in the circle the lionesses formed near the end of TLK(not including Nala or Kiara). But in the war there were 14 outlanders Image and 10 pridelanders Image (not including Nala, Zira, Vitani, or Simba)

together that's 24. Maybe they died in the fight as when Kiara and Kovu appear the number of lions fighting seemed to decrease. Maybe they though Kiara had thrown Zira into the water and left thinking she murdered their sister/mother.
The number of the Outsiders tends to change during the movie. This also occurs in the battle scene in TLK, the number of the lionesses and their appearances change a lot during the battle.

Yeah, but I’m talking about the lions from TLK, not other Disney characters..
Flower is a very feminine character, despite being a boy.. But we understood that he was male when he grew up.
Terk is a girl. We hear her mother calling her Terkina, which sounds a lot like a girl’s name to me. But yeah, she’s very masculine for a female Disney character.

Anyway, I don’t believe the lions you’re talking about are males. I just don’t think Disney would put maneless lions (or lionesses with manes) in the TLK movies, as all children learn that the males have manes and the females do not. Even if this does occur in the wild, it would just be weird and confusing in TLK..
So yeah, that’s what I think. They are lionesses, not maneless lions.

There are alot of confusing things in TLK so i think maneless lions wouldn't be that big a deal.

Besides...i'm not convinced.

Fine, I’m not trying to convince you, just saying what I think. You think they’re maneless lions, I think they’re normal lionesses. I don’t think we’ll ever agree on this one, but whatever. Interesting theory, all the same. :)

Yeah, Disney wouldn't just slap a load of maneless males in the film without specifiying it. Remember, tlk is aimed at kids, so they would specify if they were male as so not to confuse them. And maneless males are VERY rare in all males apart from in parts of Tsavo and Senegal, in castrated males (because testosterone levels affect mane growth) and in inbred lions. So unless Zira's family are very inbred then they should be lionesses.
The madness hampsters
Every night they visit you,
Every night they come,
And bit by bit they take your brain
And feed it to their mum.
And not to sound sexist but it's usually male lions that rule over the females, not the other way round. :ehh2: The only reason Zira is the leader of the Outlanders is because there are no other fully grown males able to challenge her power (except Kovu and Nuka but they're her sons). Therefore, these lions cannot be male.
Alot of people thought Vitani was a guy until she grew up. Some even believe she's a maneless lion! She could be...they never reffer to Vitani as 'she' or 'her'...

kidding kidding XD

Well having said that maybee those 'lionesses' have low testosterone and there manes didn't grow at all.
