Annie, the movie would have been way better with you has the charrie designer.. ... and technically, if the two presentations were the same presentation, He wouldn't be that much older. He shouldn't have gotten fat until Kiara was fully grown... but he was fat throughout the entire movie.

when i first saw TLK2, my cousins were visiting and they (having seen the 1st TLK before) said it looked like Simba was wearing eye makeup in the 2nd movie lol..

Yeah, his facial hair area and nose are also differently colored. IDK if it's 'cause he's older or what but I think they just put a little less effort into making the characters in the sequels than in the first movie.
The winner for last week's question is...NalaLionQueen. Congratulations!!

But from those pics(smiles)you've posted,"eye makeup"probably really fits for Kiara...
Yeah, I really noticed a difference in Simba and Nala's animation in Simba's Pride. I think it was just a continuity flaw, sort of like how they combined the 2 cub presentations into 1 being Kiara, where in TLK it definitely looks like a different cub (a boy). I guess they just thought the audience wouldn't care (which I understand). Perhaps TLK 2 presentation was what they really wanted for TLK, but messed up. After watching the special features on TLK special edition dvd about how the animator made Mufasa, he spoke about how he emphasized features on Mufasa to make him look more masculine, powerful and strong as opposed to the weak-looking Scar. I think that's what they tried to do with Simba in TLK 2, but did it too early when looking at TLK ending (as opposed to waiting until after Kiara grew up). I, however, didn't care for how they changed his coloring from a brighter yellow to an orangish color like you guys mentioned before haha odd.... well I think I've rambled, but perhaps you've gotten my drift

I think his mane is a huge part of the equation. In TLK it's just bursting into full flowered-raging-wild, with shaggy bits all over. In TLK2 it goes much farther down his chest like a big beard, and it's smoother at the top. Makes him look more calm, even lazy, and more parent-like for sure. I prefer the classic teen <3

Oh me too. They made him look wayyy too much like Mufasa. Simba and Nala were supposed to be very young when they had their first cub. They had young love ^^ In SP, they're old mature adults.
