If Kiara doesn't want to be queen, who will be Simba's heir?

Yes, I suppose it is. ^^ As you remarked, I just went by the way that the only character who implies the legitimicity is Zira who has totally backwards/upside-down view of the kingdom. :p

I don't think Kiara really had a choice, since she is literally the only known heir to the throne. Simba said it himself, "That's like saying you don't want to be a lion. It's in your blood..."
Kovu can be ruled out because even though Scar was of royal descent, he was never a legitimate king and thus had no right pick an heir. Neither Vitani nor Nuka would be heirs either since as I said Scar was never actually king. Now if Simba had died in the desert, that would have made him rightful heir to Mufasa as Mufasa's bloodline would have been lost and well... everything would have been different lol.
So since Kiara is the only heir left to the throne, she has no choice but to be queen when she grows up. But if she simply refused or died, Simba would probably have to handpick another lioness within the pride to be his heir...which would suck, because Kiara grew up with all his training.

I believe that Kiara would probably go on being the ruler. Sure, she may have said she didn't want to be queen, but she was just a little cub then. I think she was just fed up with everybody treating her like a princess and not letting her go out on her own.

I think Kiara does want to be queen. She did act like a leader at the end of TLK2 afterall. I think when she said she didn't want to be queen, it's because she was young, and just bothered like Muddy pointed out that she was always treated like a princess and could not do the things she wanted to do. So yes, Kiara probably will be the heir to the throne. I couldn't see her saying she really didn't want it when she was older and more mature.

I agree completely with this and Muddy's statement. I think it was just a part of her maturing and discovering that she would take the responsibility of being Queen - I think it was just a part of her development.

There is a good chance that Scar didn't have the proper training to become King, though he did anyway given the circumstances. It's true that it's never stated in the movie, but pretty much all Taka fanfiction says that Adahi gave Mufasa the teachings of the Circle of Life and not him. It would also explain his allowing of the hyenas to eat whatever they desired, he simply did not know the limits.

Speaking of which, why is only one cub born each time a character gives birth? Simba and Kiara were born solo, while Kovu/Nuka/Vitani all look different ages. Most lionesses give birth to between two and five cubs at one time.
