Eeh, is that a problem? It's not Nuka and Kiara who would marry each other, no I think that the head director was thinking about Kovu. I just have this feeling that some people in movie business does not even know what kind of movie they are doing or who is who. I mean just look this thread, Serabi? Scars sister-in-law? Kovu is Scars nephew? I do not know what to say...

Wow, this is so confusing xD I think Scar is Nuka's father too, but the whole relation thing is beyond me. I mean, in the first TLK, I think everything made sense then, but then TLKSP came along and now everythings messed up x3

Here are my theories on Nuka:

1) Nuka is Scar and Zira's son. He looks very similar to Scar, with lighter coloring, eye color, and ears resembling Zira's Also, if Nuka is Scar's son, it explains why he is so scrawny. If we remember Scar's quote from the first movie, "I'm afraid I'm at the shallow end of the gene pool," then we can assume that Nuka comes from that same shallow end. (Zira's abuse also lends itself to Nuka's scrawniness, but I don't think it's completely the cause). Nuka complaining about Kovu not being Scar's son would make even more sense in this case.

2) Nuka is not chosen to be Scar's heir because Nuka is a runt, thus it would make sense for Scar to have chosen the stronger cub as his heir. This is, of course, assuming that Scar either saw Kovu as a baby or knew that Kovu's father was stronger than he was. Of course, Zira could have been making it up because she herself favored Kovu, but it's likely that Nuka was alive during the time Scar was alive, so I don't think that's the case. It's also unlikely that Zira would have chosen a cub that wasn't related to Scar unless Scar had told her to do so.

This is, of course, all my personal opinion, and everyone is free to agree or disagree

I believe that Scar wasn't Kovu's father. I'm not sure why the director chose it to be that way, but from the way I see it, if Scar was Kovu's father, then that would make Kovu the cousin of Simba and would have made it seem really weird that he falls in love with Kiara.

I beleive that Chumvi is Kovu's father. Scar couldn't be because then Kovu and Kiara would be cousins and because Nuka stated "Scar wasn't even his father." I also think that Nuka and Vitani are the children of Scar ^^

If Nuka and Vitani were Scar's cubs, the film would have made mention of it. Plus, neither Nuka nor Vitani refer to Scar as their father so I assume Kovu, Vitani, and Nuka all share the same father. But, that's your personal opinion, and I'll respect it.

Personally, in my fanfiction, I think Scar is Nuka's father, and Vitani and Kovu are littermates that share the same father because they appear to be the same age. Look at that picture below, they are clearly share the same age.

But Disney didn't really care. It was all for money. And females are usually smaller ^^ I think Vitani was born in the middle of Scar's reign and Kovu just before Scar died :3

Of course Scar isn't Kovu's father, this thread is more about the father of Nuka. It's stated many times that Scar is not Kovu's father. The director chose it to be that way because of the reason you stated - it would make Kovu and Kiara second cousins, and even though it's legal to marry your second cousin in many parts of the world, it's still technically incest, and obviously Disney doesn't want incest to be directly implied.

No, Kovu and Vitani appear to be the same age and supposedly have the same body mass. Only when lionesses when they are fully grown do they appear to be smaller than male lions, I believe.

Yeah, I always thought of that as a hint that Nuka may be Scar's son, but I don't think it's enough official evidence. Anyway, from the filmmakers's perspective, they added that line so they can tell the viewers straight on that Scar is not Kovu's father.
