Scar's Death

Well here's my theory. The hyenas killed him and ate him. I don't think the fire killed anyone of them 'cause it was put out immediately by the rain. Then they just went off. That's the way I see it, considering Nuka's words in SP.

I personally find it kind of odd that people are assuming that the hyenas died in the fire. Because it literally started raining like 3 seconds later.

But right before it did, the entire pride rock was almost completely engulfed in flames.

I don't think that could have killed ALL the hyenas though. But yeah, maybe some of them did die.

Maybe only a few, but you never know which hyenas died. Afterall, with a massive army like that, even with some killed by the lions, there isn't enough space not on fire for them to all survive.

I would venture to assume he was eaten. The Pridelands were barren at that point. Remember, the hyenas earlier complain that they are hunger. Sarabi talks about how the herds have moved on. Everyone was starving. And any kills that they did happen to make would have gone straight to Scar. That's how lion prides work. The males eat first and the females get the leftovers. Scavengers, like hyenas, only get the very last of the leftovers or have to steal kills (and I believe Scar would have been on those hyenas like white on rice had they tried to steal his meat). So yeah, the hyenas are betrayed and know they are going to kill Scar. Of course they would have eaten what they could of his body before Simba chased them down and drove them out of the Pridelands.

I also believe that he was eaten. Remember, Scar committed the ultimate betrayal. He was the lowest of the low as far as the hyenas were concerned. I think that in their eyes, death was the easy way out. But Scar being a lion (and the only one who wasn't starving), he couldn't be allowed to live long enough to suffer. Kill him quick, and then dispose of the rest. Maybe save his head. But saving the head is unlikely seeing as the hyenas were very hungry, and Scar's dead body is nice and meaty. Not to mention: what other way is there to shame Scar even more than to eat his body after death? Not only is he providing the hyenas with at least some benefit, if Scar is somehow able to witness the events after his death (afterlife like Mufasa of sorts), I'm pretty sure that eating his body would be a big insult to him. And I mean a BIG insult.
