Hmm..
Since lions eats other animals I think bloodthirsty and cruel will kinda do, well they are against those animals they eat, aren't they? xD
Not all animals, I know..

Nala is Alan backwards. Did Alan Menken work on TLK? Just a thought.

I've seen a couple of people calling her Lana, though.

Seriously though, I looked the name Nala up on BabyNamer.com and got his result:

Meaning: "Successful; drink of water."

Languages: This girl's name is used in Arabic and African.

Nicknames: Lala and Lola

Variant Forms: Nahla

Narrative: This soft, subdued name will ring a bell for anyone who’s seen Disney’s The Lion King: Nala was the young lioness friend (and later wife) of the movie’s hero, Simba. In 2008, actress Halle Berry chose it for her daughter.

I had known of several different meanings for her name, but I think some of the LK characters are so special that their names are defined by them. When I think of Nala, I think of love and beauty already because of who she is. When I think of Simba, I think of a strong leader lion because of who he is. Same for most of the names actually: Mufasa, Sarabi, Kiara, Kovu... and so on. :D

The way I see it, it gets to a point where the meaning of Simba or Nala is the characters themselves.

I didn't know about Halle Berry naming her daughter that though, that's really cool. She's beautiful to begin with, so her daughter just might live up to that name.
