Why do you love The Lion King?
But Bambi is soooooooooooooooo boring! :furious2:
I regret ever saying this. Bambi is not boring. It is a masterpiece of epic proportions. When you aren't being sucked in by the captivating dialogue that is implanted in your memories for all eternity, you are awestruck by the amazing fluency of the art. Walt Disney really pushed his artists to achieve an outstanding level of art and realistic animal design and movement. This alone makes Bambi a masterpiece of cinema and deserves every ounce of recognition that it gets. I realize that this is a why you love the Lion King, but I need to counter my negative statement about one of my favorite movies. Bambi is not the Lion King level. That much is obvious. But when I said Bambi is boring, I was wrong. I was more wrong about that than I have been in a long time. This statement remains, to this day, one of my biggest blunders ever.

Now then, onto Lion King. I love this movie because I have to love something. And why shouldn't I love a milestone in artistic cinematic developement. My only wish is that Walt Disney himself could have seen this brilliant film. But I digress. The Lion King has touched my heart, my soul, my life, and my art. Never have I been so passionate about my art since I beheld the Lion King again. As a child, it appealed to me as a fun, uplifting adventure. But as an adult, I am now able to see the sheer genius that went into everything. Every little detail, every little sound, every rock, every tree, every rain drop, animal, cloud, character, song, melody, and every piece of story lives on in my heart forever. With every line of the pencil, Disney captured a story that stayed in all of our hearts for a reason. With every musical note, Disney created a song that plays in our minds every time we think about it. With every word, Disney made a life-long script that stays in our souls for the rest of our days. And I am proud to be a part of a community that supports the feeling of nostalgia and utter happiness that we receive every time we plug in that film. And that, my friends, is why I love the Lion King.

^ Epic post is, literally epic!
And I agree too, it is a film that you can... I dunno... Appreciate more as you get older and also because it is actually relates to life in some ways, unlike so many other animated films.

I feel exactly the same way that S66 said about The Lion King. Like him, I have to love something and TLK is the main "thing" I love. It's my own world that I can experience and imagine from my own eyes. TLK brings the spark into it's epicness of the first movie and continues the plot into the second movie. I am so glad and estatic that TLK is my favorite movie of all time and my biggest obsession that's uncontrolable (but I control myself with TLK). I will NEVER outgrow TLK! :excited:

Because of how it effects me on multiple fronts. The artwork, the sounds, the music, the story. All of it amazing and so far, unbeatable.

For a long time, the songs and the orchestral soundtracks were all i cared about. Well, only two of them: Can you Feel The Love Tonight, and Under The Stars. But then I expanded my horizons, and I was in for a shock. I never forgot the Lion King, but I realized how much I missed by limiting myself to one song and musical score. And don't get me started on how I felt like when I discovered Rhythm Of the Pridelands. Let's just say that I reached the point of no return.

And then I started mixing in the Lion King with everything else I did. Kind of hard to ignore it when it becomes one of the main parts in your life. Not to mention it changed my personality. I always thought of myself as more tame and pacifistic. Kind of weird when I like war derived technology. It's cool as long as it's not pointed at someone. But I digress. I always insist that Circle of Life works really well when playing a war game. Why? When you get killed, you won't be mad at the person who killed you. When you kill them... well, it's the circle of life. They'll re-spawn anyways. it's a twisted logic, so if you don't get it, feel free to pm me. But I know that when I played Halo, and I listened to the Circle of Life, my aiming got worse, but the game got much better. Go figure.

In school I told a person that I was less tame a few years ago. He told me that he found it hard to see me less tame. I smiled inside. The Lion King made me a better person. And others saw it, even if they didn't know the reason.

For me a big part of why Lion King touched such a deep emotional cord withe me is because, it came out the year I turned 18. For some illogical reason I was afraid that now that I was an adult, I would loose interest in thing that I loved growing up. Like animated movies, the fact that the Lion King and it's characters touch my heart so deeply. As well as the fact that the I related to the story on a adult level, showed me that no matter my age I would never loose the things I love. It also showed me that just because a movie may be aimed at kids, doesn't meant that an adult can not also love it. The Lion King is a movie I enjoy showing to other adults that think animated movies = Kid's movies. Lion King alone can justify why I like animated films at my age.

its pure awesomeness... everything about it.

The storyline, the characters, the animations! The music is fantastical! It show how close a family can be, even if far apart.

The Lion King = Awesome!
