We actually had ways to trick the psychology of the child to love a girl and never get over her even after her death. It was often done to yound nobles who married as early as 13. So did Simba go through love brainwashing?

I don't think he was brainwashed lol. I think they were close friends as cubs, and then as they were reunited as adults they both realised just how much they had meant to each other all along and....tadaaa! LOVE <3

I think they were pretty much destined to fall in love to be honest, not because they were friends that just happened to be opposite sex but because they were so against the idea as cubs (although Simba seemed less enthusiastic about it than she did I think). It just felt right, as soon as they were introduced :3
