I think it is just one of those films people seem to love or hate. It is like the marmite of Lion King films :D
I agree with you on this. ;)

I take it as a spoof, since it doesn't follow the exact storyline, there's so many mistakes, it seems to mock the really emotional scenes and it's funny.

Still, it's a cute movie and I like the new characters (Ma and Max etc) but I really don't take it as a "proper" movie ^^

This movie is okay. Not as good as the other two movies but it has some disappointing moments. It was cool seeing the hyenas again. ^^ However they were better in the first film.

I like it :D I think the problem a lot of people have is that they take it all to seriously. I mean it's two silly characters making funnies and having a good time in some familiar places. I don't think it was ever supposed to be as grand as the Lion King, after all Disney tried that with Simba's Pride and most fans I see seem to be unhappy with that so it's not like they'd try again.

I don't think anything should be taken too seriously and you have to be able to laugh at yourself and this is just what this movie points out.... well to me anyways. On another note I just love Timon's Ma XD

I found it annoying. I was especially annoyed by the fact that no one remembered who Rafiki was.
The jungle. Everything in the "Parenthood" scene and stuff that happened in the jungle was perfect. I love this part of the movie, its my favorite scene.
I like this part too, it`s the only thing about this movie I liked, actually.
Why a movie based around Timon & Pumbaa? Its "The Lion King", not "The Socially Deranged Meerkat and Smelly Bugivore Warthog King". I'm a big fan of these guys, but they got their own TV show...they don't need a movie too. I wanted to know more about Simba as a cub, maybe the adventures he was in that we'll never know about or the dangers he put himself in along with Nala.
I`m not really a Timon and Pumbaa fan, so I agree: This movie did not need to be made because we are getting enough of these guys as it is. I too would love to know more about Simbas cubhood (both in the jungle and in the Pridelands)
Pumbaa's non-existent story. So they made a new movie based around these two, and then they don't even tell us half of the story. Where did Pumbaa come from? Is it just not important? If so...why make a movie about it?
Very true. It`s really odd that they give you lots of info and backstory on Timon, but nothing on Pumbaa. It`s not like what we learned about him in the Hakuna Matata song in TLK was enough.. All that told us was that he farts alot, and that`s the reason he became an outcast. In the 1,5 movie nothing was revealed about Pumbaas family..

I liked Lion King 1 1/2 for what it was, a comedy. It was great to see some of Simba's life in the jungle, and getting a more serious take on how Timon and Pumbaa met (in oppose to the Once Upon A Timon episode of The Timon and Pumbaa show) and seeing Timon's actual family was also another high point. Personally I would have rather had a more serious minded movie, like as the name implies a movie that bridged the gap between Lion King 1 and 2, or if they had to retell the original story from another viewpoint I think Nala's story would have been much more interesting. However what I really don't like is that this is most likely the last Lion King movie and it is not how I wanted to say good bye to my favorite characters.

TLK 1.5 was okay, for it's style. As a stand-alone, it would have made a passable impression, roughly on par with other comedies of its kind. The only reason I despise it so much is because it is TLK, and therefore should strive to be on par with The Lion King. Instead, it made a mockery out of a masterpiece. True, it had its good moment or two, but honestly, it is so different, that I don't even consider 1.5 as canon. I don't even know if its supposed to be taken seriously or not. Dare I say it, that it might be well, trolling?
