What Do You Think Really Killed Mufasa?

But, Mufasa's dead. Disney probably wouldn't make the scene even sadder (or scarier to some 5 year olds) by adding all the damage that was truely done.

Personally, I would think its the fall, it would of had great impact when he fell straight down. It could of broken some things in him, due to his weight and the distance of the fall.

But the wildebeasts have sharp hooves, stabbing horns, and are running. Don't you think its more likely that it was the wildebeasts?

If that was the case, wouldn't there be cuts on him or something? I know he could of been trampled and finished off but If their hooves and horns are so sharp, There would of been cuts.. (Yes I know its a disney movie and kids watch, but I mean kinda like how Simba scratched Shenzi's face, nothing Major with blood.)

That would have been scarring for a child, dude. 0.0 It'd make the scene HARDCORE.. Imagine poor little Simba seeing his father filled with cuts and blood D: Now THAT's what I call mental scarring.

By the time Mufasa would have hit the ground, most likely he would have died. Also, he hit the tree with enough force to smash it in half. I think that the most likely cause of death is the fall.

But the slightest chance that the stampede killed him after the fall, it is understandable that Disney would have left out the details.

I would think it would be likely that Disney didn't add the blood and cuts. The Wildebeasts Killed Him.

That's a good point, DGFone. I never thought of the fact that he smashed through the tree. Even more reason to believe that the fall killed him.

Ugh! Or, the tree was already broken when Simba went flying. Mufasa was tumbled and tossed around in the Stampede and ended up there. Wildebeasts!

Well it's impossible for him to have fallen approximately 30 feet onto rock and lived to tell the tale. He obviously wasn't going to land on his feet, he was falling chest up. He probably weighs about 200kgs. It would have killed him. He had already had the opportunity to be trampled by the wildebeest when he was knocked down after he put Simba on the ledge.
And I doubt they would have trampled him at all. He is a big lion, they probably went around him, as we saw when he was laying down after Simba was knocked from his mouth.

Of course he wouldn`t survive if he were to fall directly down on the rocks.
I just think that what killed him was landing on top of the wildebeest. He was falling on his back, directly down on the running animals.. right down on their sharp horns. I, at least think that`s when he died. He probably broke his back/neck and got punctured by the wildebeest horns.

It`s quite likely that the wildebeest did run around him when he was lying on the ground, but he must have crashed into a few of them (if he was still alive and moving when he was on the ground) I mean, there were so many animals, all running fast in blind panic, he couldn`t have managed to avoid all of them. Some might have cut at him with their hooves and/or horns trying to run or jump around him But that`s just the way I see it.
