Did Simba and Nala *liked* each other as cubs?

I'd agree with KM and YWFE: It was a lot closer than a normal friendship, and we all know where those tend to go. There was definitely a nub of affection in there.

I think they were mainly just best friends, they seemed very close as cubs. But I don’t think Simba saw anything more in Nala than a best buddy.
When it comes to Nala, however.. I think she might have had a little crush on Simba when they were cubs. I don’t think it’s shown in the movie, but I’ve seen several clipart pics and such were Cub Nala seems to eye Cub Simba in a admiring/loving way. But just going from the movie, I don’t think either of them had feelings for eachother as cubs. They just had a very good, close friendship. Plus, as cubs they were young enough to think of love and marriage as something gross and weird. So I believe the reaction to Zazus announcement was genuine, not trying to hide their true feelings for eachother.

I don't get a romance vibe from them as cubs. Not the slightest potential romance vibe.

They just seemed like best friends, even a sibling like relationship.

Seems to me like Nala and Simba were just best friends as cubs. When they met their old friendship rekindled into a lovely relationship. I wouldn't say either of them had a crush on each other.

Kovu and Kiara had a crush on each other. "My name's Kovu!"..."I'm Kiaaaarraa."
I don't think Simba and Nala had the same relationship atmosphere as cubs.

I think they did. ^^ Simba is looking a bit sweetly at Nala here. But that is just a screenshot, so we may never really know, even if we think that's the case. But when Zazu mentions them getting married, they both get grossed out, especially Simba. This could have two possibilities, and maybe even more: Simba could of just been the one having a crush on Nala, since he got grossed out. Usually people do this, especially kids. Simba tried to keep it a complete secret. On the second possibility, Nala could of just been the one crushing, and did the same thing, to hide it and to be happy that that tradition would be the first thing to go when Simba gets to be King. All in all, they are just cubs. As KM said, they might have had crushes on each other, but they didn't know it yet. Or, perhaps they did, they just didn't want to show it. ^^
