Your Opinion of the Morning Report

I really dislike it. To me it's just out of place to the point where it ruins the scene. Ugh. Glad they removed it from the Diamond Edition & Blu-ray.

Like I typed before back in late 2011,
I don't hate "Morning Report" either. I found the song rather catchy, and like the animal puns. However, I felt the inclusion of the song added nothing to the storyline, and came off [rather] pointless.
As an add-on, the animation was okay, but compared to the original animation in the film, it felt weird especially because it was animated on a computer, and they didn't give Simba his whiskers...at all. The voices were okay; Jeff Bennett did a good imitiation of Rowan Atkinson, though I always thought Edward Hibbert (who voiced Zazu in the sequels) sounded more like Rowan, and wondered why they didn't bring him back. Simba's singing voice (I forgot his name) was okay, though he didn't sound like Jason Weaver, who unfortunately grew up.

Overall, I like it. Pointless, but I liked it.

Same here. Everytime I watch the movie, I skip over that part.

There is a way of playing the original theatrical version through the "language" meny, but I don't remember how since I don't have that version of the DVD anymore (gave it away to a friend after I purchased the Blu-ray). But I *think* it's on "language", and then...audio? Either way, there should be options to choose from; press the one called "theatrical version" something, and then play. I think that's how it's done, but I can look into it if people are interested, lol. Or maybe someone else has a clue?

Now that TheLionPrince has pointed out the animal puns, they are another reason why I prefer the original version:

While the song does have more puns, they are all sung very quickly, and you don't get a chance to enjoy them. I don't remember any line in the song matching the emphasis of "Cheetahs never prosper...". I fin the fewer but more integrated puns in the original a better deal than the larger umber, but barely glanced over attitude of the song.

I prefer the original scene. Now, I very much enjoy the puns, but there honestly is no need for Zazu to break into song over it.. Geez.
The song itself is alright, it just doesn`t fit in the movie, it feels out of place. Also the difference in animation (and Simba`s voice) is just glaring.
I heard the song every time I watched the movie. I thought it was rather catchy, and while it was clearly a different voice actor for Simba(I don't really hold that against it much, seeing as it would be ridiculously difficult to find someone that sounded exactly right)
Wasn't cub Simba voiced by a different actor in TLK3? Just saying, he would have been a huge improvement.

Maybe he didn't have a decent singing voice. But I still think Simba singing at all was unnecessary
