Not in the Pacific coast. Hurricanes need warm water, and the west coast is cold.

But still, despite the Earthquake, the Disney artists worked at home to make sure that The Lion King would be finished!

Is it the best? Maybe or maybe not as this position could be very debatable depending on a person's tastes. Disney did produced other excellent movies after all!

However, TLK is the most sucessful Disney ever made and is usually a "must see" among people. I remember being one of those rare persons who had never seen TLK almost two years ago. People used to not believe me when I said that. XD

Then again, the movie has always been different in various aspects from other Disney movies. Mufasa's death and lifeless body showed is one example of a small, yet significant, difference... I don't know how to say it... the movie just distances itself apart from the usual Disney movie formula as it includes several different elements. I could say it is the best, but the movie being different from the others, I could as well say Disney's best movie is another one without compromising TLK status...
I know, quite a weird way of thinking.

I would assume so. When it comes to deciding the very "best" from the Disney canon, it would be a subjective arguement based on the matters of cinematic taste and preferences.

The only thing I think that could rival The Lion King in popularity is Beauty and the Beast, which unlike TLK, was nominated more Oscars (and even nominated Best Picture. Think about it, both animated movies had a very troubled production history, and in the end, they appealed to audiences of all ages, and won rave reviews from movie critics. To boost its popularity, they had very successful soundtracks, with a popular pop song that top the music charts. During the Oscars season, they were mostly nominated in the Music category divided by Best Original Song and Best Original Soundtrack, and won both. Finally, they were rewritten into long-running Broadway musicals that were nominated a number of Tony Awards.

Not to many Disney movies can pull that off, except The Little Mermaid and Aladdin, but I heard their Broadway shows weren't that good.

I will do a "fair and balanced" comparison of the two films to see which one is better in a few days ranging from cultural impact, story, music, voice acting, villains, love story, and characters.

For me, yes, it is the best. The morals, the animation, the music, the characters, even with the minor plot holes this movie is still amazing to me. There is lots of rivalry as TLP mentioned, especially between Disney's Golden Era movies (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King)

Yeah, I do think.

I mean, that's personal, but as theme is "do you think"... Yeah.

Based on tragedy, with deaths and characters that actually have a story to tell. Each of them is unique with the past, its fears, passions and special characteristics. It also has an awesome villian. The story is also well developed and not really childish.

Not to be taken wrong, I love MANY other Disney movies, but yes, TLK's my favorite.

I think its all a matter of opinion, though there are a looooooooot of people who like this film x3 for example I think the film Sweeney Todd is a masterpiece, yet others think its an awful film (though I do see what they mean tbh lol). As for me, yes ^^ or at least its one of the best Disney films, anyway

It's hard to compare animation with live action. I would says it is the best animated Disney film, but I can't say I know a live action film that's better. I just don't think there really is a best Disney movie overall. I still say the Lion King is my favorite though.
