I say Sarabi, she lost her husband and son, and had to deal with her step brother for so long.

Of all the TLK characters, I think Sarabi went through the most suffering.

But of the options you posted, I say Kovu.

Yes, I know Simba excperienced some horrible and traumatizing things, but I`ve always believed that his Hakuna Matata lifestyle to a certain degree numbed his pain.

Kovu had a miserable existance his entire life, until reaching young adulthood. He grew up in a barren wasteland with little food, barely any water and with a mother who trained and brainwashed him, and an older brother who hated him. That`s a bad life.

Simba had a great life until Mufasa died. He then excperienced a certain time of trouble before meeting Timon and Pumbaa. From then on, he lived a pretty good life, though I`m sure he was very much plagued with guilt. I do however think that the Hakuna Matata lifestyle helped him forget about it from time to time.

Kovu had nothing to help him numb his pains or forget his troubles.
Just my thoughts.

I agree with most people that Sarabi and Nuka had the worst lives/suffered the most because of the points raised.

Simba.. I know you might think I'm crazy for saying this but I also think Nala. She was great friend with Simba and then she got told he died.. thats like someone saying to you your best friend dead. Plus I grew/ am growing up without a father figure and it started my depression. So I think Nala..

I grew up just fine without a father figure, and my own brother/best friend died when I was small. I'm perfectly fine after some years. I think that since Simba and Nala were cubs when Mufasa died and he disappeared, Nala's pain would have numbed over time. After all, for the entire scuffle with Simba when she first found him again, it was Simba who recognized her first. Nala was just focused on getting food from him rather than trying to match a name to the face even after all those familiar moves. She probably didn't think about Simba much, no matter how much your shipper hearts might want otherwise. Simba was dead to her, and she just needed to survive and hope Scar would die soon.

Simba's life was all good, save for a few moments of utter tragedy. Before Mufasa died, he was a prince and spoiled rotten by the pride. All he did was laze about or play useless games, or get in trouble and when his father goes to scold him, it ends up in a cuddle-fest. When Mufasa died, the first few days were horrible, sure, but we're talking about life not a specific time. Biography, not memoir. After he found Timon and Pumbaa, it was Hakuna Matata for many years. You've all seen the fun he had over his teenage and cubhood years. All that was tragic for him was a few nightmares and some dark thoughts. Boo hoo. Then after he fought Scar and won back his throne, he was the Lion King. The freaking King! You may think finding out the truth, that he was not responsible for Mufasa's murder must have been so hard for him, in reality it wasn't. Maybe for a few seconds he was in turmoil, but then he killed Scar and fulfilled his father's last wish. Then he grew up to be one of the most loved Kings of all time and had a beautiful daughter! Yup, such a horrible life. /sarcasm

Kovu had a rough cubhood, not life. He was treated the best out of all the Outlanders, due to him being Scar's heir, Zira's favorite, and proclaimed next King. He was given the most food and the most attention while his siblings were cast off to the side. Even though he was brainwashed into thinking Simba was evil, he was still a good lion. Then he found true love with Kiara and proved himself to be a good husband for her and a good person. Simba accepted him as a son, he married Kiara, and he will one day become King.

Even though he's not on the list and many people may disagree, I think Scar has had the most terrible life. Just remember, that once he was a little cub just like Simba or Kiara. He wasn't born evil. People made him evil. He was constantly pushed around and forgotten just because he wasn't born first. Eventually he became sick and tired of it and rebelled. I'm not saying that he was not at fault, but it was not entirely his. Being neglected by his own parents, his own pride and family, and then being second-best to Mufasa no matter what he did. His life finally got so bad that he murdered his own brother and even when he got what he thought he wanted, he was still ridiculed by the pride. Because Ahadi had never taught him to be King in the event of Mufasa's death with no heir ebcause he did not doubt Mufasa, Scar did not know how to rule. He was outcasted by everyone, even after he ascended the throne. He grew to be insane, self-centered, and conniving. He died begging for his life to what he considered to be his only friends because he had thrown them under the bus in an effort to save himself.

I know he was evil, but Scar had undoubtedly had the worst life.

Nuka, he was crushed to death. And was never really accepted into his own pride.
Kovu was not forced to follow in Scar's paw prints, else he would not have fallen in love and all. The rest of them, like Nitro said, my dad died when I was in school too, one minute he is up and fine, the next I am being taken down to reception where my sister was telling me he had died. And yeah, that is pretty devastating of course, but time can heal that. Whereas going back to Nuka, he just wants to be loved, no one gave him the respect he desired and it cost him his life...

I agree that Nala was able to put the grief she felt over losing Simba on the back burner so to speak, but she obviously didn't bury memories of him too deeply. She was absolutely thrilled to discover he was alive.

I don't know where you got all these random scenes from, lol.
Neglected by his own parents?
Never taught to be king?
Became sick and tired of being pushed around and forgotten?
Second best to Mufasa?
You must have talked to a producer or something to get all these amazing new scenes that show all these things, because I never saw any of that happening...
